Because of his status as a foreigner planning in the US and the type of visa he is here on, as I understand it, he is not eligible to receive any NIL money, so there is not an option to offset any of those $$$

There is no guarantee he will be back for another season.

He can't receive NIL while here in the US. He can do something similar in the off season when he goes home. Last summer when Jaz Shelly was back in Australia she tweeted about it. Basically saying now is the time.

Will be another interesting thing to follow in the off season. Would love to see him come back. It's cliché but he does seem to have a true "love of the game." He just seems to exude pure joy when playing.

Sounds like tonight’s Big 10 matchup of Michigan State at Michigan will be something like we’ve never seen.

Watching GameDay from Lawrence this morning they reported on it. Among other things Michigan’s student section is wearing Michigan State colors tonight, and Michigan’s pep band will be playing Michigan States fight song to welcome them.

I will definitely be watching.

Sam Griesel and Husker Athletics host blood drive

LINCOLN, Neb. — Sam Griesel has made a college career of providing assists to win games. But the Huskers' senior point guard's latest assist will save lives. On Friday, Griesel and the University of Nebraska Athletic Department hosted a six-hour blood drive at Memorial Stadium to benefit the American Red Cross. "I just want each person that comes through here today to know that they're, you know, changing lives and making an impact in this community," Griesel said. "Each pint of blood can save three patients," said American Red Cross donor relations specialist Ashley Church. The Red Cross expected nearly 100 donors to give blood at the event. "Here's a constant need. Blood cannot be produced in a lab, and the only way that we can keep that blood supply going is through generous donors and their daily contribution," Church said.

Two years ago, it was Griesel who needed help. While playing at North Dakota State, Griesel suffered a bleeding stomach ulcer that put his playing days and life in jeopardy. "As the story unfolded, and we learn more about it. It was a whole lot scarier than we realized," said Griesel's mother, Kathy. She said it wasn't until after receiving a blood transfusion her son finally started to feel better. "That helped him immediately. There was a huge difference in how he felt," Kathy Griesel said. Now, back in his hometown playing for his dream team, Griesel has a new perspective on the game and life. "Just taking it day by day has been the biggest thing for me and just enjoying each day getting this opportunity. It's a privilege to go out there and play basketball in front of 15,000 people every game," Griesel said. And use his star power to help others. "You don't necessarily know who you're helping, but just that it will eventually help someone," Griesel said.

Nebraska Knocks Off Maryland in Overtime
Sam Hoiberg's late heroics seal the home victory

The shorthanded Huskers are the scariest team in America right now. Nebraska men's basketball (14-14, 7-10 Big Ten) fought through suspect officiating and a 10 minute stretch with just one made basket to emerge victorious 70-66 over Maryland (18-9, 9-7 Big Ten) in overtime. The Huskers have three-in-a-row and four of the last five games. Tough defense pushed Nebraska to a nine point lead midway through the first half. The Terrapins put together a 10-0 run to take the lead before NU worked a lead back up to seven at the half.

Nebrasketball Win Streak Continues With Victory Over Minnesota
The Huskers have won five of their last six games

Nebraska men's basketball is above .500 in late February. The Huskers pushed their win streak to four with a 78-67 home victory Saturday afternoon. NU (15-14, 8-10 Big Ten) has won five of its last six contests.

Was anybody else as shocked as I was to learn Keisei's dad is 6'11? When I first saw this I thought that his parents were standing in different rows (or he was in the aisle and a row or so above the one she's in). He's 6'11, and his mom is less than 5 feet.
