We really need to get the construction cameras going as all we have now is trailer counting...

It looks like they have all the trailers lined up and in place. It won't be long, now!

Drove by this yesterday, besides the eleven trailers still not a whole lot going on here, hopefully that will change in the coming weeks.

From what I can tell by the GLM camera is that they have been working on the barrier around the staging site this past week. Looks almost done now. Hopefully next week will be more exciting.

Couldn't help noticing this morning how much this building looks like the Gran Torre Santiago, a truly beautiful structure and the tallest building in South America. Just think, in three years we will have something standing here that is 2/3 the height of that and about 120 feet taller than the Washington Monument.

I did hit up my Mutual source early this afternoon and I was told “everything is on track’”, and “we should start seeing more action very soon!”..

So his intel mirrors pretty much exactly what you’re indicating :thumb:

Looks like they got a bunch of railroad ties or something on the jobsite. Wonder what they're doing with those.

It looks like crane mats, they help provide stability as a crane is lifting heavier loads. I'm guessing some of the foundation work will be done with crawler cranes and they'll switch over to tower cranes once things start to go vertical.

Another idea for the beams is support for a retaining wall after the library moat walls are removed. I'm sure they will go down at least two more floors before foundation piles are drilled. I get a ringside view of this project from work so it will be fun to watch.

Another idea is perhaps they decided to go "mass timber" instead of the usual iron for skyscrapers.

Man, that would more than double the current tallest mass timber building.

Also, I shudder to think what marketing slogans Omaha / Nebraska would come up with in response to that. "Home of the largest wood, experience the Big O".

😆 those workers are gonna need some serious plumbing if they're going to build the tallest building in the state.

I’ll be the first to admit, I consider myself to be of average intelligence, and that’s on a good day, but when it comes to the planning, engineering and buildout of such substantial structures I’m a complete idiot. It appears since ground breaking in late January, just to get to this point of having trailers, portapotties and a number of people on the site, has been painfully slow, sluggish and even agonizing. Again...from these inexperienced eyes. I’m sure there’s more to it than what can be seen but gee whiz man LOL!

I am by no means any kind of expert here but to be honest this doesn't necessarily surprise me this much. I'm guessing it will probably a little closer to the end of the month before we start seeing much constant noticeable activity. Come mid April I would expect it to be full speed ahead.

I know nothing either but I expected some major work being done on the actual construction site by now. I drove by on Tuesday and didn’t notice anything other than some paint markings.

From talking to the local Iron workers that got the contract, there saying JE Dunn is building the parking garage part on the project and kiewit is building the tower portion!

Talking to my source this afternoon, he confirmed (as most of us know) that JE Dunn is the general contractor for this skyscraper project..I don’t know how that fits in with Kiewit building the tower portion?..

In any case, still all systems go..and there will be definite additional work swinging into action very soon…
