Same here, primetime spot in a game like this can really help with recruiting too. Exciting stuff!

2023 NCAA Tournament: Honoring the standout players from the first two rounds of March Madness

First team
Ryan Nembhard, Creighton: Creighton's do-it-all guard exploded for a career-high 30 points Sunday in an 85-76 win over No. 3 seed Baylor in Round 2 action in the South Region. Nembhard went a perfect 10 for 10 from the free-throw line in leading Creighton's perfect 22-of-22 effort from the charity stripe, tying for the most free throws in a game without a miss in NCAA Tournament history.

Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton: Creighton became the seventh team in tournament history to have a different 30-point scorer in each of its first two NCAA Tournnament games after Kalkbrenner turned in 31 points in Round 1 and teammate Ryan Nembhard scored 30 in Round 2. Kalkbrenner had seven rebounds in each of the Bluejays' first two tournament games and added four blocks in those games to go with 41 total points in two wins.

Today is the big day....hopefully the Jays can get prepared and not overlook Princeton. I think if Creighton plays a smart game and doesn't force 3's or turn the ball over too much, they should have this one. Need to get the ball inside to Kalk again.

Was listening to a couple ESPN analysts today and one felt it could be a really good game. Both said Princeton hasn’t shot well so far. The difference maker for Princeton was this player Tosan Evbuomwan

The Jays had a 10–0 run only to give up five points to Princeton and then had a fever free throws to end the half.

Going to need a lot better effort on D in the second half.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Behind a combined 63 points from Ryan Kalkbrenner, Baylor Scheierman and Trey Alexander, Creighton Men's Basketball advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history with a 86-75 win over Princeton on Friday, March 24. The victory pushed the Bluejays to 24-12 on the season, while Princeton's season came to a close at 23-9. Creighton advances to face No. 18 San Diego State on Sunday, March 26 at 1:20 p.m. on CBS.

Baylor is an x factor for these jays. He makes precision passes and hits super timely shots. I am a big fan of his game.

I was concerned for awhile in the second half after they went for like 9 minutes and only scored like 8 points and Princeton crept closer. Also the Princeton zone seemed to bother their flow during that time.

The rumor is Kalkbrenner is leaning towards coming back to Creighton, he did say that he would not transfer to another school if he comes back to college

Baylor does.. Same question I wondered about here a month or so ago. I hope Kalk returns for his final year..I hope they all do..

I think some of these decisions hinge on how far the Jays end up going in this Tournament.. I’m so pumped about the Elite 8 right now…

Can’t believe FAU is headed to the final four. If and that’s a big if, Creighton can win tomorrow they would be going up against FAU for a chance to go to the championship.

I was hoping Creighton and Gonzaga would play for the national championship. But now that Gonzaga's out, having been utterly humiliated by UConn, that ain't gonna happen. Stagburn it!

Good first half so far, prob need to be a little more aggressive in the second half. Also need to get inside to Kalkbrenner more especially to start the second half

Completely agree.. Be more intent getting the ball inside to Kalk..and try to build on the head. San Diego St will keep swinging..need as much point space as we can build..

Sickening loss for CU. Absolutely sickening..

With the win, San Diego State (31-6) advances to the Final Four for the first time in school history and will battle FAU in the national semifinals at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 1. A start time for the national televised contest will be announced on Sunday evening.
