If you go based on visits, Nebraska seems to be in the final three for Brady Dunlap, a SF. Not a huge priority. Really need a PG and a Center.

I don't have a good read on this one. Not sure if this is what is needed or what he can bring, but who knows? There are people make big $ to decide that I guessGreg S wrote: Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:59 am If you go based on visits, Nebraska seems to be in the final three for Brady Dunlap, a SF. I think the biggest question mark on returnees, is Keisei. I haven't heard really any way on which this is headed. Would love to have him back next year.

I might be looking at it wrong but the longer it takes for an announcement I think the chances get better he returns. If it was a slam dunk he was leaving we would know by know. I also think if he was leaving he would be up front enough that he would let the coaches know. Of course they may already knowGreg S wrote: Mon Apr 03, 2023 3:20 pm I think the biggest question mark on returnees, is Keisei. I haven't heard really any way on which this is headed. I like your thinking here. Selfishly, I really hope he comes back. Obviously a good player, but it’s hard not to smile when watching him. He plays with pure joy.nebugeater wrote: Mon Apr 03, 2023 4:47 pmI might be looking at it wrong but the longer it takes for an announcement I think the chances get better he returns. A follow up. Just listened to Jacob Bigelow’s visit on Sharp and Handley this morning. He has the same thought as you, the longer this goes the more likely Keisei is coming back.nebugeater wrote: Mon Apr 03, 2023 4:47 pmI might be looking at it wrong but the longer it takes for an announcement I think the chances get better he returns. Re: Nebraska Basketball 2023-2024
Good article on Hunter Sallis by Sam McKewon. Fit for this style will be key. Not sure if Nebraska matches up with what he's looking for. They also mentioned academic support which is an NU strength.
“He’s looking for a system that embraces his style of play,” said Trevis, noting Hunter’s interest in playing with a fast pace and open offense. “And also a school that supports strong academics.”

This would absolutely be a critical need filled.

Good breakdown of the busy month ahead for NU basketball by Sam McKewon.
"April projects to be a lot louder than the last half of March, starting with a key reported visit happening next weekend.
That comes from Pittsburgh transfer center John Hugley, who has already visited Georgia Tech and will visit West Virginia, according to On3. In between those trips, the 6-foot-9, 265-pounder will see Nebraska April 17-19."

An important one gets away. I was a little encouraged by the article I posted earlier that NU had made his top 3, but Kerr Kriisa has picked West Virginia:

Yeah I think they need to bring in someone but not willing to be that dramatic on Coach. Walker and Griesel were the chief distributors last year.OmahaRedWing wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 12:03 pmIf they can't get a decent point guard, I think this is Fred's last year there.Greg S wrote: Wed Apr 05, 2023 10:46 pm An important one gets away. Another former Omaha Central grad, Latrell Wrightsell Jr hits the portal (his Dad played for Creighton.
Thought this part was encouraging, "Out of the plethora of programs, Wrightsell says he plans on scheduling Zoom visits with Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ole Miss within the next couple of days. "

He also said Nebraska wants him and Hunter Sallis to come be their backcourt and they'd put pieces around them.Greg S wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 5:29 pm Another former Omaha Central grad, Latrell Wrightsell Jr hits the portal (his Dad played for Creighton.

That would be a dream scenario. Not sure on the chances of it but would be really cool.

I wonder what Wrightsell Jr's thoughts are on Creighton? Is there some pull there because his Dad played there. or did that go away when they didn't recruit (or possibly only lightly recruited him out of high school, especially since Central and Creighton are neighbors)?

Caught part of Jacob Bigelow's spot on 1620 yesterday morning. He mentioned that if NU brought in players of similar skill sets, there's talk the CJ Wilcher would possibly enter the transfer portal. I guess some were expecting it anyway.

Hunter Sallis is set to for an official visit to Nebraska April 21-23. The trip Fred and Nate Loesner on Easter to Spokane must have gone well. Impressive because out of high school NU didn't even make his final 12.

Same. Like you said, this has to be a good sign. And I would think that Hunter, as a former top recruit, is really motivated to go somewhere where he can show out and he's got to know Nebraska gives him the opportunity to do that.Greg S wrote: Wed Apr 12, 2023 11:32 amNo problem at all all.
