This place has been around quite awhile. It's in Sports Plaza (east of L Street Marketplace and north of L Street). It changed ownership a couple of years ago. Pretty decent food for a bar and grill. They have have pretty tasty specials too.

That I do not recall. I'm fairly sure it was Finnegan's at least as far back as 2007. (I only remember that because I smoked at the time and Omaha had just imposed the restaurant smoking ban, but for a short time Keno places were excluded. So, I could go eat lunch at places like Finnegan's and smoke too.)

I should have recalled that. My dentist used to be in that strip.

I know it's been Finnegan's since at least 2005. Our team at the place I worked from 2005-06 used to go there almost every Tuesday after work for their $1 drink specials. First job out of college and we were poor.

Sweet - going to turn into "Club 120 & L"?

I'm not sad the last set of owners left. I was in there a few months ago and ordered a BLT. It was cold. I don't expect it to be piping hot as a BLT is hot and cold ingredients layered together. However, the toast and bacon were both room temperature and I get paranoid about meat not being held at a safe temp. So, I told our waitress who happened to be one of the owners about it and she replied, "Sometimes the bacon gets cold. What do you want me to do about it?" I responded with, "Aren't you the owner?" She walked off.

The rumor I head is that the other previous owner (the aforementioned owner's husband, I believe) got his second DUI (and also a driving under a revoked license from a previous DUI) which I believe is a felony and so they were scheduled for a hearing with the Liquor Control Commission as to whether they could keep their license, so they hurried up and sold the place before they got stuck owning a bar that couldn't serve alcohol. At least, that's what our server on our most recent visit told us.

On a side note (and a sad note), Finnegan's original owner, Greg Keffeler, passed away this last April. He was a good guy. Always came around to talk to the customers. He really had a pride of ownership in the place.

Hopefully the third set of owners can run it like Greg used to.

Was a bar & restaurant. 120th & Fort. Replaced by Saints. Now its Monolithic brewing.
