I agree. Here for a short time but he really seems to have become attached to Nebraska. I remember he came back during the all star break too.

With Nebraska missing out on Wrightsell, they really need to land Sallis and keep the momentum going. They need to start spending to get players to Lincoln, like Creighton does. According to Shatel, Creighton spends more on their players than anyone in their league.

Keisei Tominaga has applied for early entry to the NBA Draft, which gives him access to evaluation and provides the opportunity to consider remaining the draft or returning to college. Selfishly bummed to see this. That being said I am not surprised. Also if he gets feedback from the NBA and coaches that his best option is to go to the draft, I will support it and be happy for him. Won’t give reasons why he should stay just because it’s better for NU.

Koa Peat (2025 5 star) took his unofficial visit to Lincoln. He has some family history with NU as his brother Todd played D tackle at Nebraska.

At NU, Sallis would likely assume duties most recently held by Sam Griesel and, prior to the Lincoln East graduate, Alonzo Verge. The Huskers like to use multiple ball handlers, as well.

I think it would be strange if Ahron Lewis came to Nebraska from Iowa. Transfers within conference or odd to begin with but Iowa to Nebraska heightens that. Has a impact player in any sport transferred between the 2 schools since Nebraska joined the Big 10?

NIL $$ and the portal have changed all the rules.

Many places say that Iowa has some of the worst NIL processes of any place.

I would add the portal is probably just as big a change as NIL.

Especially for Hoiberg. Last season showed some improvement but he absolutely needs to get them to the post season this year.

In the Rivals article on Ulis thought this was interesting as well:

Nebraska now has two scholarships available for the 2023-24 season. The Huskers hosted 2023 three-star guard Brady Dunlap last month. The 6-7 Dunlap had the Huskers in his top-five following his decommitment from Notre Dame.

New Mexico forward Josiah Allick hit the transfer portal this spring, looking for the best fit for his final college season. As it turned out, the Lincoln, Nebraska, native decided that fit was back home. Allick, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound senior, announced his commitment to the Huskers on Tuesday. The former 2019 standout at Lincoln North Star officially visited NU during the football spring game weekend of April 21. He also visited San Diego State and Southern Illinois. Allick will have one season of eligibility remaining.

This is great news! Nice to have another Lincoln kid coming home, following Sam Griesel. Also fills a need.

Much like Creighton had the inside track with Traudt because his girlfriend attends CU, Nebraska was similar iwth Allick as his sister is on the Nebraska volleyball team.

Brady Dunlap is going to St Johns. Not sure Nebraska had a spot for him with Brice Williams and then Josiah Allick coming in. We will still see him though when he plays Creighton.

Not sure of those rankings, there are so many rankings out there, but I would tend to go with 247's rankings more.

In that one NE is 31st and Creighton is 23rd. (I find it hard to believe that Creighton didn't even make the top 69 in the ranking that you posted.)

2023 Transfer Basketball Team Rankings

I think what they are evaluating is different. 247sports only seems to be rating the incoming portal talent, which is interesting. However on3 Sports is looking at and ranking based on players that left and the ones coming in. It gives you some ideal how a team fared overall in the portal. Obviously, losing Nebhard would have a big impact on Creighton's overall ranking because he was pretty much in the top 10-20 of overall players in the portal. At one point, ESPN had him listed as the 2nd best players available in the portal. CU got a good replacement for him, but it is viewed as a negative because their new PG was no ranked near that hight (though he was talented).

I would tend to think it is. Nebraska basketball is now supported by the NIL group 1890.

Nebraska has offered a scholarship to A'mare Bynum of Omaha Bryan. This is notable as NU was the first local school to offer. Under the last few coaches that hasn't been the case. Very happy Hoiberg is placing an emphasis on local players. I also have been frustrated with baseball and football for the same issue. It does seem like the staffs of all 3 are recruiting much more diligently, here.

Not only though was Nebraska the first local school to offer, but it was his first offer overall . i verified this with Jacob Bigelow of Husker Illustrated. Nate Loesner seems to be spearheading the local recruiting efforts.
