Yeah I think that's an understatement. We're already half way done with conference season and in first place.

Nebraska Baseball is blanked 8-0 by Iowa, dropping the series

It was cold, it was dreary and the weekend funk hanging around Nebraska baseball didn’t lift on Saturday afternoon. The Huskers were shutout for the first time since April of last year (also against Iowa) as the Hawkeyes downed Nebraska 8-0.

Nebraska hopes to salvage the series with Iowa on Sunday afternoon.

The Huskers wrap up their road trip on Tuesday with the series finale against Omaha. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Tal Anderson Field.

Nebraska Baseball lays another egg as Iowa completes the sweep

Nebraska baseball’s nightmare weekend at Iowa continued on Sunday afternoon. Another clunker from the Huskers gave the Hawkeyes a 6-1 win and 3-0 sweep of the series. Nebraska’s loss marks the first time the Huskers have been swept in a Big Ten road series since the 2016 season. Will Bolt and company were outscored 25-7 on the weekend and 14-1 in the final two games of the three-game set.

The Huskers wrap up their road trip on Tuesday with the season series finale against Omaha. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Tal Anderson Field.

Drew Christo shines in Nebraska baseball's 6-3 win over Omaha

Nebraska baseball picked up a much-needed win on Tuesday night bouncing back against Omaha following last weekend’s sweep. The Huskers, boosted by serious contributions from young guns Drew Christo and Dylan Carey, salvaged the series with the Mavericks. Nebraska dodged a season sweep with a 6-3 victory and head coach Will Bolt’s squad is 22-14-1 on the year.

Nebraska faces another midweek foe on Wednesday in the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

The Big Ten slate continues this weekend as Nebraska hosts Minnesota. Friday’s first pitch is set for 7:02 p.m. and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

I was there. They played as uninspired baseball as I have seen them play in a LONG time.

After the Iowa weekend, where they got swept and this, this season has the feel of tanking really bad. This weekend with Minn in town will tell a lot.

Nebraska baseball leaves too many stranded as South Dakota State prevails 8-3

The Nebraska baseball team (22-15-1) fell 8-3 in a midweek matchup to South Dakota State (18-17) as the bats were cold and the defense wasn’t on top of their game.

The Huskers will face off against Minnesota this weekend in a three-game series at Haymarket Park. Friday’s game will start at 7:02 p.m. Saturday’s starts at 2:05 p.m. Sunday’s game starts at 1:05 p.m. All three games will be live on Big Ten Network.

It was the Jackrabbits' 11th straight win and the program's first victory over Nebraska since 1971.

The Jackrabbits climbed over the .500 mark for the first time this season, improving to 18-17 while establishing a new Division I-era school record for consecutive wins. Nebraska dropped to 22-15-1 overall.

Nebraska baseball collapses in the ninth, losing the first of three to Minnesota

The Nebraska baseball team (22-16-1) fell apart in the ninth inning, allowing Minnesota (12-28) to score five runs that led to a 9-7 loss. With a 5-4 lead headed into the ninth inning, the Huskers gave up two quick runs, and a base clearing double to make it 9-5. After rallying for two runs, the Big Red’s efforts fell short and they lost this one 9-7.

The Huskers are back in action against the Gophers on Saturday and Sunday to finish out the series. The games start at 2:05 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. respectively. Both games will be streamed on B1G+ and are available over the radio on the Huskers Radio Network.

Anderson goes long twice as Nebraska blasts Minnesota 18-0 to even the series

Nebraska baseball needed a bounce back in the worst way. The Huskers got all that and more in an 18-0 demolition of the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday afternoon. Jace Kaminska got back on track with his first quality start since March 25 and Max Anderson pulverized two home runs in the victory. Head coach Will Bolt’s squad totaled 18 runs on 19 hits to tie the weekend series 1-1. Nebraska is 23-16-1 on the year. Here’s how the Huskers blew out the Golden Gophers.

What’s next for Nebraska baseball?
Nebraska wraps up the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. CT. Fans can stream the game on Big Ten Plus. Then on Wednesday the Huskers host North Dakota State for a second midweek matchup. That game will also be on Big Ten Plus.

Nebraska baseball pummels Minnesota 11-5 for series win

Nebraska baseball wrapped up its weekend on the winning end using a eight-run fourth inning to best Minnesota 11-5 on Sunday afternoon. Will Bolt and company triumphed on another gusty day that featured plenty of wind-altered balls and a solid start from Will Walsh. The Huskers move to 24-16-1 on the season and 9-6 in Big Ten play.

Based on how we stack up today including standings, I think Maryland is the clear favorite. Nebraska most likely somewhere in the 3-5 range.

Maybe you're right. Perhaps I spoke too soon. But I'm still certain that Nebraska will still get invited to the Big Ten Tournament at the end of the month. What if it comes down to Nebraska and Maryland to decide the Big Ten Tournament championship? Again, that's wishful thinking, but it still doesn't hurt to imagine.

I think Maryland will most likely make the championship. Would love to see NU join them.

It would be fascinating to see a Nebraska vs Iowa match up. I think that would be a record breaker attendance wise, as both team have proven to draw well in Omaha.

Nebraska baseball slugs four home runs but falls to North Dakota State 6-5

The Nebraska baseball team (24-17-1) sent four balls over the wall in a midweek matchup against North Dakota State (16-26) but fell 6-5. All five of the Huskers’ runs were scored on home runs, but three of those were solo homers. This is the second straight Wednesday game that the Big Red have dropped.

NU shifts the focus to No. 23 Maryland this weekend for a three game series away from home. Friday’s game starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday and a 12:00 p.m. start on Sunday. All three games will stream on B1G+.

Nebraska baseball grabs early lead, fades in the fifth at No. 23 Maryland

Nebraska baseball dropped the series opener against No. 23 Maryland in College Park on Friday evening. The Huskers grabbed an early lead but the Terrapin bats outscored NU 8-2 the rest of the way for an 8-4 victory. Head coach Will Bolt’s squad continues its rough patch in which the team is 3-7 in its last 10 games. Here’s more on how the action unfolded.

The Huskers continue their series in College Park at 1:00 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon. Nebraska’s matchup with Maryland will once again be streamed on Big Ten Plus. Sunday marks the series finale and first pitch is set for 12:00 p.m. on Big Ten Plus.

Nebraska baseball blasts four home runs to take down No. 23 Maryland

The Nebraska baseball team (25-18-1) blasted four home runs against No. 23 Maryland (32-16) to take down the Terrapins 12-10. This win for the Huskers snaps Maryland’s nine-game win streak and sets up a rubber match on Sunday. The Big Red jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning courtesy of Griffin Everitt’s grand slam. NU didn’t look back after that, hitting three more home runs and taking down a strong Maryland team.

Nebraska baseball blown out in series finale loss to Maryland

For a third consecutive game, Nebraska baseball struck first. The Huskers led 2-0 in the early going before the Maryland bats woke up and Sunday’s rubber match rapidly got out of hand. Nebraska’s pitching staff coughed up two eight-run innings on the way to a 20-5 loss and series defeat. Head coach Will Bolt and company are 25-19-1 overall and 10-8 in conference play. With two weekends to go, the Huskers are part of a four-way tie for fifth in the Big Ten standings and Illinois is knocking on the door in ninth at 11-10.

The Huskers will resume their suspended showdown with Creighton on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m. as the two teams will compete the final three innings of that contest. Then, Nebraska will face the Bluejays again in the previously scheduled meeting at 7:03 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network. The upcoming weekend holds the final home series of the season. The Huskers will host the Penn State Nittany Lions at Haymarket Park.

Husker baseball player looking to make it to the major leagues

When he was in high school, he was highly sought after by college programs from coast to coast. He chose to stay in his home state and play baseball for the huskers. FOX42's Bill Steckis reports, he has disappointed no one. There is a long-time saying in sports - numbers don't lie. They can be manipulated, but that's not the case with Max Anderson. All of his numbers are positive and that's one of the reasons why a major league team will take him in this year's draft. "Max Anderson," cheers the announcer. You will hear that name a lot in baseball stadiums throughout the country. Omaha's Max Anderson is one of the best college baseball players in the country.

He says playing at Nebraska worked out better than expected. "It's been great, I couldn't ask for better teammates and better coaches. I couldn't have dreamt it any better," said Anderson. He says that from a dugout perspective, but on the field. He has had a stellar career that will likely turn into an early round major league draft pick in July. "So, the draft coming up. You're going to say hey, I am not thinking about that I'm thinking about my teammates. Am I wrong? No, I am not focused on that right now. We want to take this team as far as it can go. I just want more time playing with my brothers," said Anderson.

Huskers Fall in Resumed Game With Creighton
Nebraska’s bases-loaded opportunity nets just one run, and the Bluejays score twice for a 6-5 win in Omaha

Nebraska baseball’s week started off in disappointment when the Huskers let a prime opportunity slip from their fingers Tuesday evening, falling to Creighton 6-5.

Nebraska baseball salvages Creighton series behind key efforts from Perry, Hawkins

Nebraska baseball bounced back in a big way against Creighton on Tuesday night. After dropping a resumed game with the Bluejays earlier in the evening, the Huskers rallied for a 7-4 victory in the series finale.

The Huskers will open the final home weekend series of the season against Penn State on Friday. That game is set for a 6:05 p.m. first pitch will be streamed on Big Ten Plus. Saturday’s tilt is also a nightcap with a 6:02 p.m. start on the Big Ten Network.

Went to the 7pm game last night. Driving to the ballpark we listened to the broadcast of the first (partial) game. They were going over who was available for it since it was a continuation. So pitchers that had already been pulled and only those on lineup card were available.

The other point they mentioned that in Lincoln the umpire crew was a 4 man but in Omaha it would only be a 3 person crew. Don’t know if that is a Big East thing to use 3 person crews?
