I like how "SCHWAB" is uppercase, but "charles" is lowercase. That tells me they take care of business but with a personal touch.
Silly, pure and simple. I could never be a marketing consultant, I could never keep a straight face.
Like when BB&T and SunTrust merged into "Truist". Wonder how much that cost?
The new signage looks good. The TD Ameritrade building is still fairly new maybe 10 or 12 years old. For commercial buildings that's not real old. It makes sense that they would keep a footprint in Omaha after the merger in a building that's still attractive and somewhat new. Instead of moving everything immediately down to Texas or some other city.
News from Schwab. It had to happen given the industry. I didn't find anything about the Omaha office or Denver office. I figured Frisco would be one since they moved their HQ to Texas.

Bad news today. TD Ameritrade/Schwab started with layoffs -- exact quantity still unknown. Perhaps 7% of the workforce of 35,000 nationwide.
Employees who were let go remain employees and will get paid without having to show up until January 5. Then you get severance based on your length of service. You will also get paid the yearly bonus.

Is this affecting the Omaha workforce?
It is affecting every location that Schwab has. Omaha still has some employees who ONLY supported old TDA systems. And they are likely getting let go in a larger portion than in other locations.

If the layoffs are over a certain number the DOL requires them to use WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification), The Nebraska notices are here: https://www.dol.nebraska.gov/Reemployme ... sizingWARN
Yes, WARN was used. Employees who were let go are technically still employees until January 5 (giving at least 60 days notice). On January 6 the severance will be paid, and then bonuses paid in March.
Schwab will still not confirm how many were let go. Estimates are around 2000.
