I was two and remember my parents talking about that storm, we were living on Woolworth Ave near Aksarben.

I was 17 & earlier that year was a massive blizzard. I watched structural steel and debris fly past the basement windows. We lived by Western Hills School. After the sirens stopped I hopped in my Jeep & drove toward Crossroads. Near Lewis & Clark school it looked like a war zone. My cousins' house was by the school & the National Guard patrolled to deter looting. Whole houses were just gone. They dumped debris in a pile on Lewis & Clark's ball field & it was a mountain.
