Nebraska has offered a scholarship to A'mare Bynum of Omaha Bryan. This is notable as NU was the first local school to offer. Under the last few coaches that hasn't been the case. Very happy Hoiberg is placing an emphasis on local players. I also have been frustrated with baseball and football for the same issue. It does seem like the staffs of all 3 are recruiting much more diligently, here.

I agree that this is trending across more than one sport. With that, I will suggest that this in part the focus that the AD wants to see.

That’s a great point. I would tend to believe that’s true as well. So far very happy with Trev. Hoping it lasts, could use some steady long term leadership at the AD position.

The area of this arena is a true Midwest MECA for sports. I have taken hockey teams to play at Scheels IcePlex next door. The whole complex an area is awesome.
Two hours north for the road trip and Sioux Falls is a great little weekend getaway.
I wanted to go last time Nebraska was involved, will definitely try this time.
One portal target Nebraska lost out to earlier in this session was Kerr Krissa to Bob Huggins at Wet Virginia. He may not get to play for Huggins after these comments earlier today:

Checking on-line, seems like the bigger threat to Keisei is that he plays pro in Japan (sounds like he already has a strong following there). NBA interest is luke warm right now.
It seemed up until a week or so ago that all signs pointed to Keisei Tominaga coming back. Now it looks like the momentum has completely shifted. Seems as if he's more than likely to stay in the draft.
Nebraska guard Keisei Tominaga is withdrawing from the 2023 NBA Draft and returning to the Cornhuskers, he announced via Twitter Wednesday. He burst onto the scene for Fred Hoiberg’s group this past season, his second after transferring from Ranger College.
Tominaga put up impressive numbers for Nebraska in 2022-23, averaging 13.1 points per game, which ranked second on the Cornhuskers in scoring. He quickly became a fan favorite in Lincoln, dubbed the “Japanese Steph Curry” and even getting a shoutout from the Golden State Warriors star, himself, during the season.
Honestly could not be happier. As a very long time Nebraska basketball fan (since the Devaney Center opened), you get programmed to expect the unexpected and it's almost always bad news. Thought the same with Keisei and had convinced myself he wasn't returning. So so happy.
For watching Nebraska almost all my life, 2 of my all time favorites have played in the last year. Sam Greisel and Keisei. Very thankful to be able to watch Keisei one more year in Lincoln.

Saw that besides this game, the Sanford Pentagon is hosting 2 more games.

I have kind of followed this event since Nebraska played in it a few years ago. Can't remember more than one game in a season there. Wow.
The area where they host this might be the best of it's kind I have ever seen for hosting athletic events in so many sports. Spent a lot of time coaching at the Scheels IcePlex on site. Only place I can think of that compares is in Blaine, MN.
Just listened to Jacob Bigelow on the radio replay of Sharp and Benning from yesterday. Lots of good info. Sounds like Keisei will only be a part of a small part of the Spain trip. Assuming he will be back home during it or something with his national team (not sure they gave a full reason).
Also talked about injuries:
Blaise Keita: doesn't sound like he will be ready to do anything for a while.
Juwan Gary: was good to go yesterday.
Josiah Allick: sounds like his ankle may be ok to play on at least part of the Spain trip.
It might be a blessing in disguise to have Keisei miss a part of it. We already know what he's capable of and his role. Will be good to get the newer guys acclimated and the extra playing time.
