Supposedly Medical Solutions has signed an agreement with their current Landlord (Cizek Homes, who does lots of suburban office buildings) to build them a new office. Pretty fair to assume it’s suburban. He owns the offices west of 180th that DTN, Lindsay, and Sojern are in, I’m guessing by there? Not sure if there is room.
Have not yet heard who the two tenants replacing them downtown are. But unless something drastic changes it sounds like them going downtown is dead.

I'd be shocked if Medical Solutions is going anywhere besides this new office building that is planned for next to Westroads (where MINI/BMW, etc used to be). Especially since this same company already did work for Medical Solutions (with their Denver campus).OmahaJaysCU wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:41 am Supposedly Medical Solutions has signed an agreement with their current Landlord (Cizek Homes, who does lots of suburban office buildings) to build them a new office. Hard to say - though I believe it’s only been ~2 years (I could be mistaken). I realize that’s still a while but considering how the pandemic and consequently supply issues/skyrocketing building expenses, it’s not completely surprising to have this delayed. Maybe a scaled back version is more realistic but I’d be surprised if they completely scrap the project and move elsewhere…Linkin5 wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 4:34 pm Is that building even realistically going to happen? It was announced in early 2020, I believe, with no reporting on it and none since. Someone here found it on the Holland Bashan site while looking at the previous Lanoha proposal for the old UP site and posted it.stormchaser wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 12:38 pmHard to say - though I believe it’s only been ~2 years (I could be mistaken). This project is now in the “wait and see” mode. It may happen. It may not. Developers, including the one working on this project, are getting very nervous these days. Those doing financing are also on edge. Politics is playing a huge part in the decision to pause for a while and to wait and see before making a decision wether to build or not to build.

I failed to mention that all tenants have agreed that it is best to pause this project. Nobody has backed out.

I'm curious why its in a wait & see. Lincoln projects are ongoing. Does Lincoln have a different PDEW than Omaha with regard to apartments?

There’s a huge difference between projects that have been proposed and projects that are underway. If the economy goes south for whatever reason, projects can and do die on the vine.Bob from Omaha wrote: Mon May 22, 2023 8:19 pm I'm curious why its in a wait & see. Lincoln projects are ongoing. Omaha always seems to have so much forward momentum built up with future projects or whatnot and then the economy tanks and 99% get cancelled or scaled back. I really hope history doesn’t repeat itself, again.

Thanks for the update. I assume "politics" is the hubbub over the debt ceiling/borrower limit. That's understandable, still looking forward to an update on the Mercantile project, regardless what it is.
Also, what about your 25 story residential tower project? Same deal, waiting to see how we land in a month or two?

Re: Conagra Campus Residential
A decision to move forward most likely won’t come until late 2024. I don’t think a lot of you realize how messed up things are. The media keeps mentioning that inflation is coming down. It’s not. The rate of inflation is coming down, but costs are still rising. It’s been estimated that the cost to build this project has gone up 35 percent already. Unless there are some drastic changes coming soon, this project will most likely die or be scaled back a lot.

it's easy when you never have to give specifics. Saying things like 'it's been pushed back' or 'you just don't understand how this all works, man' is just a matter of convenience to stir the pot when there was really nothing worthy of saying to begin with. It is better to just wait until you have more concrete information, or if the process is further along. Otherwise, don't say anything and your statements won't get ridiculed. I liken it to someone on facebook saying "well that sucked, I'm looking out for me first from now on!" just to elicit concern from others because you want attention.

I don’t take posts here too seriously. They’re fun to read and if you “like” the rumor, you hope it becomes reality at some point..
