As mentioned before….unfortunately he isn’t returning to Creighton.

Here he is the 4th/5th best option. Weird that he wants to transfer to those schools.

Wish him luck but I don’t see the NBA unless he can get some consistency.

Not sure what your question is but the starters are most likely: Trey, Kalk, Ashworth, Baylor, and prob Traudt. With King, Green and Farabello seeing the most min off the bench.

Wow I totally forgot about Mason Miller. And the transfer Jonathan Lawson. They will both receive playing time as well.

Yeah- unfortunately Reef and Art hit the transfer portal. Puzzling to me, but wish them well. At least Reef got his diploma and graduated from Creighton this year.. It will serve him well for his future…

Creighton just sent out season ticket renewal info.

No price increase, so that is really good news as well.

There is some clown on Facebook saying that Creighton was way over-hyped last year.

Just have to laugh, as they were 1 point from making the final 4.

Yes, not quite as dynamic as R2 was but a much better shooter, granted in a lower conference.

Ashworth shot, 43% from 3 last year and career 40.9%. R2 shot 35.6% and 33.7% career. So the shooting should improve. Ashworth definitely has a much sweeter stroke and form. They are both almost nearly identical size wise though.

I think the hope is better shooting should open the floor up more for Baylor and Trey as well as allowing Kalk to drive the lane.

Ryan Kalkbrenner and Trey Alexander on the decision to return

Summer workouts started today for the Jays, in a way the start of the new season. Both Ryan Kalkbrenner and Trey Alexander were on the court with their new/old team after playing at the NBA Combine this off-season. Both decided to return to Creighton and this 2023-24 team will be a little different than the one that just made a run to the Elite Eight. They explain their decisions in the video above.

First, Trey will be taking on a new role, playing more with the ball in his hand as the point guard. The Jays will also replace Arthur Kaluma at the four. Art by the way has not decided where he will end up yet as he considers several attractive options. The team added transfers Isaac Traudt and Steven Ashworth, plus several players from last year’s team like Mason Miller and Francisco Farabello will likely grow into larger roles.

I am glad that they were asked about their decision, but also stated that they understand why Art and Nembhard left.

Saw on Facebook, that they started summer workouts. I think I only knew who 3-4 guys were by their pictures...haha. Definitely quite a few new faces, but all good additions.

Jays have a visit scheduled with Top 30 4* Tyler Betsey on June 19-21 during the CWS. He is a 6’8” forward for the 2024 class. Also considering UConn, and Indiana

That is just the fan cast, there are no predictions on him yet. Prob just some crazed Iowa fan with wishful thinking. They rarely ever land any 4* athletes for basketball unless they come from the state of Iowa

Arthur Kaluma commits to Kansas State:
Ex-Creighton star gives Wildcats another huge transfer

Building off a 26-win season in Year 1, Kansas State coach Jerome Tang bolstered his momentum in Manhattan, Kansas, with another big commitment out of the transfer portal. Former Creighton forward Arthur Kaluma chose the Wildcats over several other potential suitors, he announced Sunday, with an anticipated visit to Lexington, Kentucky, slated for this week.

That is the perfect place for him, said this early on but that is where he should end up. They play a style more suitable for him to iso and show his skills more.

Good luck to him.

Love how things have changed in the past few years....here is another 5* recruit visiting Creighton. Used to be exciting to get 4* recruits, but I would say that Creighton's profile has been increased significantly in the past few years making the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight:

Hearing that so far in practice, Isaac Traudt, the transfer replacement for Kaluma is impressing the staff. He has a very big body, so that is really helping out with pick and roll, which is obviously bread and butter for Creighton's program and Kalk. If this continues, that could only mean good things for this year's team.

One person I haven't seen discussed, unless I just missed it, is recent offeree 4-star '24 Rakease Passmore. Coach McDermott and staff extended an offer to the 6'5" SG out of Combine Academy (NC) a month ago. Passmore was recently a standout at the Pangos All-American camp and one of the most efficient scorers during this past week’s Nike Peach Jam. He’s a hot commodity, but he recently mentioned Creighton as one of the schools recruiting him the heaviest. You can read up on what he brings to the floor in this extensive report, equipped with nearly 80 film clips:

Thanks for the update on recruiting. Since CU’s success in the tournament the past few years, recruiting has gone through the roof. Used to be Creighton would get 3* guys and maybe a look from a 4*. Lately it seems almost every one has been 4* and some 5* guys thrown in.

Former Creighton ball boy Dotzler acclimating to life as a Bluejay player

Before Josiah Dotzler takes the floor with Creighton he took care of the floor literally. The Bellevue West alum was a ball boy for the Bluejays back in the day. "I remember mopping the floor for Doug (McDermott)," said Dotzler. "Even sometimes Doug would come back and he says he remembers me being little and it's kind of funny how it goes back full circle." Dotzler dazzled down in the high school ranks the last four years book-ending his time with the T-Birds with two state titles.

"The competition in high school basketball my four years with Bellevue West just helped me develop as a player," Dotzler said. "We had some real tough battles. It's a big month for me and just summer for me of learning and then I hope I can be a big impact to the team." "Josiah's done well," said CU head coach Greg McDermott. "He's like many freshman: I think most things are probably going a little fast for him right now. But he's made shots. He's got a good pace about his game."

By recently winning the Nebraska Gatorade Player of The Year, Dotzler his helped his family's non-profit, Abide Omaha, earn #11,000 in grant money. Abide Omaha attempts to build safer neighborhoods and stronger families.

Bluejays will play three games during trip from Aug. 3-9

In just under two weeks the Creighton men's basketball team will take a trip to the Bahamas, where it will play three games in addition to gaining invaluable opportunities to bond and grow closer off-the-court while experiencing life in a different culture.

The Bluejays depart for the island on August 3rd and take the floor for the first time one day later in a 5 p.m. Central game against Bahamas Select. Two days later on August 6th at 10 a.m. Central the Bluejays will square off against Lithuanian team BC Zalgiris Kaunas.
