It looks like it's up for conditional approval. We are getting surface parking there. That's why TOD zoning should be the standard.skip wrote: Thu Mar 30, 2023 3:42 pm Looks like the planning board will be voting on whether or not the CSI will be allowed to build a huge surface parking lot directly west of their building. Personally, not a fan of this - I believe that piece of land has a huge potential for residential development (even though the last project failed here....) and building a large surface parking lot is taking a huge step backwards. Building more surface parking lots this close to our urban core shouldn't be easily approved I'm hoping....

Child Saving Institute expanding off Saddle Creek and Dodge
Demand has Omaha facility busting at the seams.
From his office, president and CEO Jayme Sime can feel the demand for foster care, mental health services, and early childhood education. The Childhood Saving Institute is taking another step in its evolution with a $46 million expansion. City officials are expected to sign off on construction documents, which plan to increase the CSI faculty and space and push its visibility along Dodge Street. "It is exciting to look out and kind of see where the future is going to take shape," Sime said.
The Campaign for Hope effort nearly doubles its building size to the east. It adds an on-site mental health clinic, an emergency clinic with 16 youth beds, and four more classrooms for kids. The director of mental health services says demand has this facility busting at the seams. "We've actually built additional offices, but we are just maxed out," Lora Sladovnik said.

I didn’t realize they were leaving the inner area open, I guess that will leave them some room to expand further?
