Beautiful building indeed. Glad we blended modern with its former self, especially with the window frames inside intentionally exposing the brick underneath.

Glad we tore down that brutalist, prisonlike building of the W Dale Clark.

I have always thought there are a ton of interesting brick buildings in this area. This rehab looks fantastic!

On one hand, I absolutely supported replacing the downtown library (and building the MoO tower). On the other hand, I thought it was unfortunate that the library had to move further from the core. On the third hand, this remodel looks awesome, and hopefully spurs lots of investment and development in that corner of downtown.

I finally made it to the new downtown branch and I am really impressed. It is welcoming, with lots of natural sunlight and good indoor lighting, seating throughout. It's a pretty big space and spread out over two floors. A fun children's area.

There was decent patronage on a Friday around noon. I actually think it's a upgrade from the old downtown library. Sure it doesn't have the archives and expansive inventory of a main branch, but it just works/feels better from a regular ol' patron's perspective.

Saw this in today's Grow Omaha Market Report

Omaha Public Library’s downtown branch received Architect’s Newspaper’s 2024 Design Award for Adaptive-Reuse Education. Local architectural firms, HDR and TACKarchitects were recognized for their work on this project.
