I heard a rumor that The Switch is closing the end of June and will reopen in the Autumn with new food and drink concepts. Can anyone confirm?

Yep, Brad noted this here: viewtopic.php?t=13733&start=640

Basically, its rebranding and reopening in the fall as the Camp.

I stopped by to try out KAMP when it opened. I’m a bit skeptical of the concept because it took all the variety in Switch and has drastically reduced options. The Single Double’s slogan is “have it our way”, and they’re not kidding. There is basically a single double smashburger and fries for sale. Pretty pricy too at about $15 for burger & fries.

The coming concessions place will sell popcorn, toothpaste, and other convenience store items targeting apartment residents. Those had better be some amazing wings and egg rolls for Angelwingz and Nice Rollz to bring business when they have Crescent Moon & Hauber Haus across the street with multiple menu items in one spot.

And I have to say, KAMP’s concept it just a bit odd to me. The name, femme tiger logo, and neon blues and pinks made me think it’s some kind of drag queen food hall, but it has no queer theming at all so far as the bartender I spoke with knew. It just looks very queer while you’re stuffing down a messy burger. Strange choice.

From the pics I’m getting more of a Tokyo/Hong Kong vibe.

Nicerollz is also a burger concept, albeit with a Korean twist. Is that one too many with only 4 food options?

The Blackstone District’s Kamp makes grown-ups feel like kids again

It didn’t take me long to decipher what I think is the through-line between all four restaurants — Nice Rollz, Angelwingz, SingleDouble and Los Rollies — at Kamp, the food hall and bar in the Blackstone district. As we dined and drank down a path of Takis-dusted elotes; crunchy, ground beef filled rolled tacos; messy but delicious cheeseburgers; big bowls of just greasy enough fried rice; and ordered drinks from the glowing neon bar that prominently features a shot glass carnival game, I realized it: Kamp isn’t for kids.

Kamp makes it look fun.

Kamp has been putting a lot of resources into social media marketing. They're convincing every influencer they can get to go there and write a review. That's not a bad thing, but I would say it's outside the norm for Omaha (or, at least above the level most other places go to). I think there was even a Yelp Elite event there at some point. I worry they're struggling to get people to stop in to eat/drink. As young as it is the place has already been through rebrand going from Switch to Kamp.

So, Kamp is gone. Are there still restaurants there but just no longer under the umbrella of Kamp?
