Re: Nebraska Basketball 2023-2024
What I found concerning about the Game Sunday vs. Mich St. is the return of multiple times where the Huskers went multiple Minutes without scoring. It will happen, but it seems to be more frequent, like days of old.
Either way, it's a nice to win at home against a Mich St. that is down this year.

One Achilles heel from the past that we didn't have an issue with yesterday was free throw shooting. We were really hitting those key free throws in the final minutes.

Any word on Allick's injury? Hurt it against Minnesota and missed the MIchigan State game.

Bummer that the basketball game is on the exact same time as the volleyball game. Especially for Josiah Allick, who won’t be able to watch his sister.

Great second half, after trailing at half time. Always good to play and win a road game at a fellow Power 5 school.

I would not mind if they sit Mast on the 29th against SC State as well. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Nebraska Basketball 2023-2024
I listened on the radio. Really thought this was going to be one of those inexplicable bad losses right as things seemed to have righted themselves (following the home win over Michigan State and the road win at Kansas State). Was both surprised and relieved with how we played in the second half.

Speaking of Omaha Central. They seem to be loading up in talent in basketball and football. They have a freshman that's already been offered by Rhule. They have a basketball player coming next year who's at Morton and supposedly special in basketball. Would love to see him get an early offer from Nebraska basketball.

Re: Nebraska Basketball 2023-2024
At the game. I have never seen a team shoot as poorly as SCS did. I wish I had counted the number of airball shots. It was unreal. The game closed the gap a bit in the last ten or so Min when the top seven were really not on the floor for the Huskers. The biggest lead was 49.Greg S wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2023 1:32 am Mast-less Huskers up 50-11 at halftime over South Carolina State.

That's good. It sounded solid on the radio but I knew obviously students gone on break, and a final nonconference game. Usually that is a big hit on actual attendance. And the final non con game was obviously not a team that draws much interest.

It looked to me like they had sold a lot of the holiday tickets since the area that is set aside for students was pretty full.Greg S wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:31 pmnebugeater wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 12:43 pmSlow arriving but I was a little surprised it was as good as it was. Of course, if you were "watching" on the radio as I was at the game, you would have thought from Kent P's comments that it was sold out and people were hanging from the rafters.

Yeah I have learned not to lean on him for things like that. I do think he's better at basketball than he ever was a football. Also Matt Davidson was, and now Jake Mulheisen are good at reigning him in if he goes too biased. He's not too over the top in homerism like he was with football or John Bishop is for CU.

I agree with all the points on KP you make. Listening to him is like listening to a time machine. It seems like forever, and in some ways, it is. I have listened to him with one earbud at many games while I am there. I hate to say it, but old man time is caching him a bit like it is with all of us.Greg S wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 7:25 pmnebugeater wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:51 pmIt looked to me like they had sold a lot of the holiday tickets since the area that is set aside for students was pretty full.Greg S wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:31 pmnebugeater wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 12:43 pmSlow arriving but I was a little surprised it was as good as it was.
