Tre Palmer caught a TD for the buccaneers last night. He caught all 4 passes thrown his way

Also saw that Divine Ozigbo was the leading rusher with 38 yds for the Lions last night and A Martinez had 14 yds rushing and 37 passing plus TD throw.

I think Adrian just had a rushing TD, he didn't pass for one. This is significant, Huskers have almost no history in the NFL as Quarterbacks. Maybe he can make the team that would be amazing considering his up and down career to this point.

That's exactly what I wanted to say. If you think of all the quarterbacks that were sought after by the NFL in the 90's, Brook Berringer fit that mold perfectly, and I have no doubt he would have made a good, if not great career out of it. To this day I believe he could have been the Peyton Manning before Peyton Manning.

He was good, but come on, Peyton Manning? That's quite the leap for a guy who only started because the true starter had blood clots.

Okay, I can see how it's a stretch. But you have to believe if the transfer portal were around back then, he would have been a great starter anywhere, and I think he could have put up some similar numbers to Peyton Manning and being sought after in the same way. Despite having been a backup that played sparingly for the team, he fit the NFL quarterback mold much better than Tommie Frazier, who wasn't drafted. Brook berringer was going to be drafted.

If you go back to the 1994-1998 timeframe, the quarterbacks that fit that mold best were Chad Pennington and Peyton Manning, and I think Brook Berringer, if he had decent playing time. Even if he just made a half-Chad Pennington career out of it, that would have been the greatest Husker QB in the NFL. We'll just never know.

Travis Vokolek had a preseason touchdown. Honestly he's one of the more underutilized players in the past 5-7 seasons.

Good for him, I know that the draft projections didn't expect much out of him, maybeeee making a roster at best, but starting as a rookie, that's cool.

Former Nebraska Quarterback Adrian Martinez to continue football career

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Former Nebraska Quarterback Adrian Martinez is continuing his football career at the professional level. Martinez signed with the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League. Martinez led the Big Red from 2018-2021 passing for 9,391 yards, 49 touchdowns with 30 interceptions adding 2,847 yards and 44 touchdowns rushing during his collegiate career. Martinez went 14-24 as a starter for the Huskers prior to transferring to Kansas State. Martinez went undrafted in the National Football League but spent some time on the Detroit Lions roster. The Birmingham Stallions have won the last two USFL championships.

It wasn't because of Maher, thankfully. I was sick of Mike Tirico pointing out every single time his foot was about to hit the ball that he'd been struggling. None of his attempts were beyond 33 yards, he made them all, and yet here the announcer is basically saying "Oh here we go, would you trust this guy with your team's playoff future on the line?" It was starting to get on my nerves. I'd love to see Mike Tirico make a 33 yard field goal without falling down and breaking his glasses.

Tirico can be annoying when he gets on a point that he feels is important and can't leave it alone. That being said, there are other guys that I don't want to hear way more than him.

Probably not a popular moment around these parts, but I'll never, NEVER forget his runs to close out the 2018 AFC championship in KC, and same in the Super Bowl that followed. I had so much pride in Burk/Sexy/Rexy having those moments as a Patriots and Husker fan. The only NFL jersey I've bought to date is a Rex Burkhead #34 Patriots jersey.

Heinrich Haarberg is now with the Carolina Panthers as a tight end. Pretty solid deal given he was a backup quarterback and a tight end for one year. Size matters. He also seems like a great guy. Character matters. Happy for him to have this opportunity. Having Raiola come in was a blessing in disguise, as I don't think many teams would have had him on their radar as QB. I could see him making the team. He was described as a gadget player like Taysom Hill. THAT would be fun to watch.

Awesome! The Panthers currently have six TEs on their roster, so it will be an interesting position battle to watch when cut-downs arrive. I would think that Tommy Tremble and Feleipe Franks are sure to make the 52-man roster, so it will be tough competition.
