Mystery project never built

Post by Stargazer »

I came across this rendering from my ancient archives.

Thought it would be fun to see if anyone recognizes it. Perhaps one of the old regulars.

I'm not finding it on Google lens, so don't think we'll have any cheaters.

Yeah, that little windowed tower/overhang screams racetrack of some sort.

No way you could watch the horsies from that skybox on the tower with that overhang.

Looks like the glass building a round structure?

My guess: a never completed remodel of the building on 96th and Western.

This is actually a rendering for a much better version of Freedom Park. There was once a plan, or at least a vision, to have a grand museum building with many more exhibits, in much better condition, and the addition of the USS Omaha submarine in addition to the current vessels.

It is a shame this never happened, and Freedom Park isn't more appreciated. Most other cities would absolutely treasure such a place; especially a city in the middle of the continent, like Omaha. Where else can you find real navy ships and submarines on display so far inland? Yet, sadly, this city continues to squander it.

Perhaps someday, there can be hope that something beautiful like this vision can be done for Freedom Park.

By the way, there are other renderings and plans to go along with that image. If the person who posted this has them, and wouldn't mind, perhaps they could be posted so that others can see them, and maybe take inspiration from them. :)

I still have hope for Freedom Park.
