What is the deal with natural light that he brought up more than once? How many Arenas really have natural light?

HE made mention of a few schools that play in simple smaller domes made for football, too. Remember when UNI played in their dome on campus?

The Dakota Dome used to have the same setup for basketball as the Kibbie Dome in Idaho. It is indeed an awful setup for basketball and creates a terrible atmosphere.

I am kind of an architectural nerd. Even more so with sports architecture. My oldest son is same way. When we travel to new cities, even if not going to a game, we always check out the stadiums and arenas (even if it's just driving by). If I attend a new stadium/ballpark/arena I always go way early so I can walk around every level and check out everything.

I remember U2 played the UNI Dome on the Joshua Tree when I was attending UNL. Knew some guys that went. I really wanted to go as well but was truly the poor college student and couldn't afford it at the time.

Natural light is something that's getting popular for new domes and arenas and he's really into it. For entryway', concourses and even the mail bowl.

I get the natural light in the common areas and such. PBA has some of this. Unless it is really shaded or darkened, I don't want to see it in the playing area. In my opinion, the random light can impact the game. Leave that you the outdoor sports.

For the most part that's true. If it's done correctly it's not a problem. I remember there is natural light at Allen Fieldhouse. I think the big this is not being in those arenas that are so dark.

I do like having more windows than not for the concourses.
