I would imagine the steel columns that went up would be for the entrance as seen in this rendering:

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
I was thinking that maybe MoO would be hesitant to do anything significant with that lot, as they wouldn't want to block view from their tower. But then I remembered that the first 14 floors will be mostly parking, so they could put a pretty big building (or a few buildings) on that lot without blocking a ton of value.skinzfan23 wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 9:53 amIt has been mentioned several times, but in the immediate future, they are going to make it green space.Dusty wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 8:40 am Once the tower is built, what will they do with the site just East of it? Still can't believe that Mutual doesn't have a construction cam yet. Hopefully they will get on by this summer when work will really start to take off visually.

Yes! That's awesome, you can see so much more detail on larger computer screens!
Cool seeing the next level on the garage starting above the ramp.

Video of the smaller crane in action.
Also the parking structure does appear to be using pre-fab panels. Someone earlier said that it wouldn't but I didn't think on a project with this timeline that sounded right. You can see near the 1:40 mark that they are in fact installing pre-fab for the parking ramp.

Those are not prefab concrete panels. Concreted decking will be poured over them once the rebar has been set. Those panel then will be reused over and over as the structure climbsskinzfan23 wrote: Thu Feb 15, 2024 8:49 am Video of the smaller crane in action.

So just to understand the process, they are essentially a form and then concrete is poured over them and they are removed and used again on the next level?

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
It seems like a lot of times they do a few floors before they take the first floor down. So the forms from the first floor would be used again on the 4 the or 5th floor. I think the parking garage in the Blackstone is going that way.skinzfan23 wrote: Thu Feb 15, 2024 9:15 am So just to understand the process, they are essentially a form and then concrete is poured over them and they are removed and used again on the next level?

Another level of the core was poured yesterday.
On top of the state building is what looks like a tripod for a web cam. Not sure if that was there for the park or being setup for the MoO tower or nothing at all.

We drove by yesterday. Kids thought it was cool seeing the cranes in action. It's been a while since I last saw it in person, so was kind of surprised how tall this core structure is already.Brad wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:33 am Jeff Beals got a photo of them raising the yellow core tent yesterday.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that would be the 6th floor under the yellow section?

Maybe it’s a fuzzy memory or maybe it’s the agreeable weather, but it DOES feel like it’s going up faster than the FNB Tower did.ita wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:55 amWe drove by yesterday.
