It should be out of frame for the "big ole hole" cam on Twitter soon too. Although they haven't posted any updates since January 31st sadly.MadJack wrote: Fri Feb 23, 2024 6:20 pm Later this year, the building will be higher than the camera position.

Well, that’s good to see..
As this building rises, “Big “ol”, unless his vantage point view changes, will become les and less relevant…

You can really see the whole structure starting to take shape now. It’s obvious a very tall building is being constructed at the site. Even by the time it reaches 200 ft it will be very impressive looming over the Gene Leahy mall.
Of Omaha’s 3 skyscrapers, this will be the only one not built on a hilltop bluff. The Woodmen is very much located on a bluff and even First National is on a smaller raised elevation. This building is located on a flat part of downtown.

Thanks for the update. I wonder if they will be able to work much today because of the high winds. Could be nasty up in those cranes.

For sure. The scale of this project is really coming into focus. Sure, it's a city block and we all know that's not small, but getting into these early floors really demonstrates the size. Especially with a banana the construction workers for scale.Cermak wrote: Tue Feb 27, 2024 9:16 am You can really see the whole structure starting to take shape now.

It’s finally wrapped around to the south side, but you can see they’re creating another platform attached to the jump form mechanism.

Nice photo!
Hopefully the pleasant late winter allows for them to make a bit of a jump ahead of schedule.

Agreed! It's fun to watch all the changes. I go by the construction site about every two or three days, and even in those short time intervals, there are always noticeable changes.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 9:16 am Nice photo update indeed..

That is probably a good guess, I am surprised that I didn't even notice that yesterday when I was down there.

You can see the horizontal lines on the core which apparently correspond to where the elevations of the different levels of the garage will line up. And by the looks of it, the north garage will be on a slightly different plane than the south garage going up from present point.

There’s another one of those blue pumper towers going up in the same pit the blue kangaroo crane on the west side. It’s in the 2nd update video.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
I've been surfing this forum for at least 10+ years daily and it makes me extremely happy to have pictoral/video documentation of something like this.
You can find plenty of photos of the Woodmen tower being built. While there are photos of the FNB tower's construction, they aren't as plentiful and may be a little harder to find. That being said, it is great that, in this day in age, we can literally document this build from the ground up daily.
Looking back to when this project was first announced to see where it is now is truly awesome. I can't wait to look back and see when it was a "hole in the ground" to what it will truly become.

The tower core is cool, but its been really fascinating watching how they have built this garage. Really neat!

So, roughly every 14-15 days the elevator shaft is rising one floor. I imagine it will decrease by a few days once they clear the the last level of the garage. Should be a less complicated pour once they are only dealing with the tower.

I was thinking the same thing. Once the garage portion is complete, it should rise much faster.ItsAllAboutMe wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2024 11:26 am So, roughly every 14-15 days the elevator shaft is rising one floor.
