Tough loss last night. Late in the game Ohio State had less than half the fouls called on them than Nebraska, and had shot 16 more free throws. Hats off to OSU they were money from the free throw line. Nebraska had a few players that were stone cold from the 3 point line too.

Looks like the door is open for the Iowa transfer ( Ahron Ulis) to be able to play next season. The remaining charges against the Iowa And Iowa St players have been dropped based on how the searches were handled.

Interesting. He’s stayed with the team all year as I keep seeing his name on the availability report.

Rutgers closed the gap on a run near the end. Glad NU got it back to 12.

NU needs to slow down on fouls. Could be an issue if we pick up a couple quick ones at the start of the 2nd half.

IMO it wasn't the fouls that were the big concern it was the runovers. We slowed down the turn overs in the second half but that was a concern.

THe officiating was poor last night two. Bad calls / missed calls both ways.

Allick was my biggest concern for foul trouble after the half. I thought the Rutgers fouls were low at the time too. I think they only had 2 at the half. Agree on the uneven officiating (and that it impacted both teams).

Here is a wild stat/fact

When Tominaga missed the free throw in the second half it was only his third Free Throw miss in Conference play. I believe he has had 46 attempts in Conf so that would be 43 / 46

Minor clarification... Most home wins in basketball. There's a dozen plus undefeated at home teams with a better win %.

Might depend largely on how one defines "best record", ofc.

OK that could be, listened to first half and watched the second. I thought Kent was talking about 2 fouls for first half, but it might have been that NU only attempted 2 free throws in the first half.

OK, I am good with that, we will definitely go with most home wins. Which I never thought we would be able to say.

I listened to Kent and was at the game. I don't want to bag on Kent but last night in particular he said many things that didn't match the score board or stats on the side ribbons by a long shot. Team fouls, Player fouls, Turn Overs, Three point attents, just some that jumped out at me. It was ongoing throughout the game.

Interesting. I only listen in the car so can't compare to what is actually happening. I could not stand him for football but do like that for the most part he is dialed down from his football homerism. I really like Jake Muhlheisen (and liked Matt Davidson before him). I now actually prefer Jake to Matt.

You are probably right. Modern times it would have only occurred during the Nee era. Or it would have been a long time ago.

Here is the first good summary I have seen by someone other than a general message board poster about where the Huskers can land in the B1G tournament. It can be anywhere from 3 - 6. I think this article lays out the various scenarios rather well. ( Also, it confirms the tie-breakers that I posted incorrectly on here a while back. I will trust this and should not have relied on numerous places I read that were not media-specific)

https://247sports.com/college/nebraska/ ... 9/#2380416

Win one more and avoid any possible jumble. That's the best plan. Also, just because the seeking of the dance invite never stops.

But as those conference standings go, the Huskers can still be anywhere between a 3 and 6 seed at the Big Ten Tournament next week in Minneapolis.

DOOR OPENS WIDER FOR 3 SEED
It was already known a double bye is Nebraska's if they win on Sunday at Michigan. And the path to the 3 seed cleared a little more with Northwestern losing a 53-49 slog at Michigan State on Wednesday night. The loss by the Wildcats dropped them to 11-8 in the league, same as Nebraska.

Now tied for third in the league standings, the Huskers would hold a tiebreaker edge over Northwestern if both ended up tied at 12-8 without any other company. Northwestern finishes its regular season Saturday night by hosting Minnesota, which lost 70-58 to Indiana on Wednesday. Purdue clinched the top seed by beating Illinois on Tuesday and the Illini are now locked into the 2 seed.

I know Michigan is obviously struggling, yet I am still very nervous on Sunday's game. Senior Day plus maybe a ton of fight from the team for Juwan Howard. Don't know if he still might be retained and looking to save his job with a win here and some in the Big 10 tournament? I can't imagine they will bring him back but have been wrong before.

How 'bout those women beating MSU. First time I watched an entire game.. I swear women play more dirty than the men.. mostly Huskers on the receiving end of it. Markowski took a hand to the face, sure looked flagrant, but not called after review. B1G network announcers tried their hardest to will Spartans to a win too. Now Nebraska gets a very winnable Maryland game (who upset OSU).

This has been a hot topic this week. They talked about it on 1620. I think it would be better to talk about it after the season. Still some important games ahead.
