2024 March Madness

Post by mrsticka »

It's getting to be that time of year again. The big dance coming up next month. Who do you think will make it?

Yes, this is about college basketball.

I don't care either way, but I purchased tickets for the Omaha games and hopefully someone good (Kansas and another big school make it) so I can sell them for some good money.

Prob won't happen but the latest Bracketology on ESPN has Kansas, Nebraska and IA State all playing in Omaha.

Wow! Former Big 12 rivals going head to head. I'll bet that'll excite some people.

Tim Krueger was on 1620 this morning. Apparently a group of Bracketologists got together in Omaha over the weekend.

In Omaha, they have:
Kansas VS South Dakota State
Nebraska VS Gonzaga

Still had Creighton at a 3 seed and I can't remember where they were going or if they ever said?

Hoping Omaha gets a pod that includes the Stetson Hatters (automatic bid as ASUN champs).

Although I don't follow basketball much, it's good to see Creighton and Nebraska seeded pretty highly. I only watched one each of Nebraska and Creighton games and they were both pretty impressive. Looks like its setup that Creighton and Nebraska could face each other in the final 4. Now that's a game I'd love to see. I hope they both make it that far.

March Madness Midwest Region Preview
Purdue, Tennessee, Creighton, Kansas

This year's Midwest Region is one that will be full of storylines with teams like Purdue, Tennessee, Creighton, and Kansas in the mix. Can Purdue avenge their loss to a 16 seed from last year? Does Saint Peter's have any magic for Tennessee? Can Virginia run the course as a 10 seed with a play-in game? On3's James Fletcher joins Andy Staples to take a look at a jam-packed midwest region in the tournament

Nebraska Football Coach Matt Rhule is Calm Amid Chaos;
March Madness Begins

While March Madness and the NCAA Tournament begins for men's and women's basketball, Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule finds himself in the middle of a storm in Lincoln. Athletic Director Trev Alberts is leaving Nebraska to take the same job at Texas A&M. Ironically, both the Nebraska men's basketball and women's basketball teams drew Texas A&M in their respective brackets Sunday. That was strange, huh?

STORM AT NEBRASKA
So, in the middle of what was supposed to be Matt Rhule's introductory press conference to kick off spring football, he spent his first ten minutes talking about Alberts' departure and the strength of the athletic department. It was not ideal, but Matt Rhule was a calming influence amid the chaos.

YOU WANT TO DO THAT?
Regarding basketball, a possible future opponent of Caitlin Clark left some bulletin board material for the Iowa Hawkeyes. That was dumb. And we will let you know who did it!

And we discuss whether teams should bail on an opportunity to play in the N.I.T. 6 big name schools, including the Indiana Hoosiers declined to play. Why? We have answers.

Plus it's time for Tuesday Tweets. See if your tweet made the list. By the way, do you follow us on Twitter/X? You should @talkbig10. All of this and more is one click away on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon!

Ain't no way Cal is out. Unless he leaves by choice. I'd wager a bunch of his assistants are on the way out though.

Well, UConn did it again. They won the national championship for the second year in a row.
