Good win for the Jays today, glad they finally pulled away. It would’ve been nice to get the starters some more rest.

I'll take the dub and run. We'll find out in about 90min if Saturday will be a Creighton coaching tree event.

That was a very sloppy game by the Jays. They shot well but man the turnovers and bone-head plays could have cost them.

Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott

Ana Bellinghausen caught up with Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott following Creighton's 77-60 win over Akron in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Yes, looking at the box score Creighton dominated the game. It’s just that they had 14 turnovers which can’t happen against a better team.

Watching I felt at times, some players, Scheierman being one, were trying to ‘force’ plays/actions that weren’t there and then they ended up turning it over

Saturday will be intense. IF the Jays win, hopefully they won't have an emotional hangover next weekend.

You mean WHEN the Jays win..

For me as a fan, based on the way the Jays have played this season, just get into the Sweet 16 for the 3rd consecutive year. Any wins beyond that, are gravy imo..

And one last thing-

F Oregon, Lol…

You know, I used to like Dana Altman, but now it is Creighton’s time to move on. Glad to see Dana, but GO CREIGHTON!

What about the Jay's time to move forward leads you to no longer liking Dana?

Oregon is playing well and could be dangerous but for once Kalk is going up against a big guy and that can’t shoot outside so he will be anchored in the post like CU likes. Should help our guards out some as well since they can guard the 3 closer and let players drive knowing Kalk is back there.

It’s weird. Nebraska football seems like it got worse after joining the Big10. But Creighton I believe has gotten better since joining the Big East. I just miss when the Creighton games used to be on KMTV.

I was just talking with some fans yesterday. I think the only thing I miss about the Missouri Valley days is arch madness in St. Louis and being able to drive to away games.

I happened to be in St Louis for that one year. Wasn't there for the tournament. Seemed like CU fans were everywhere. Kind of felt like Mardi Gras. On downtime we kept going downtown because it was so much fun. But the Jays fans were out in force where we were too, Westport Plaza area. CU fans made that an event like ISU and KU do for the Big 12 in KC.

On the drive back, I 70 through Missouri was worse than usual because so many Nebraska plates. Took about an hour longer than normal to get back to Omaha. Someone told me after the fact there's a alternate route that's better, wish I could remember it.

Honestly, I also miss the Wichita State games. That was really developing into a rivalry. It doesn't seem like there is one yet in the Big East.

Having Drake in town for the tournament brought back Missouri Valley memories. You can’t beat having a team just a 2 hour drive away and watching the games for free on KMTV. It looks like they have replaced us as the dominant team in the Valley after Creighton and Wichita state the two best teams in the conference left. Now our closest team is DePaul in Chicago a nearly 7 hr drive. But Creighton is a better team now and gets better recruits and more money, that’s the trade off.

Not to mention that every single game is televised. Back in the Valley maybe 5-6 per year were on tv and usually ESPN, which really sucks anymore. The amount of money that CU gets just from tv deals makes it worth it financially, but exposure to the eastern US is amazing as well.

Ashworth hit a three with one second left before half Creighton is up 36–34, feels like Creighton should be up 10 to 15 points with all the rebounds they’ve had but they keep jacking threes and missing.

I told you the jays would win :;): ..

In a crazy sort of way, the Jays winning the way they did in Double OT might serve them well on Friday. We’ll see..

On to the Sweet 16 once again!…
