Haha, by the skin of their teeth until the second OT! I'm glad they were able to pull it out. I felt there were two turning points late in that game. The first is when the Jays started to double team and trap OR's top scorer to force the ball out to someone else. That pressure really paid off in defensive gains - OR couldn't adapt. Second of course was Jasen Green's massive dunk. I smile still just thinking about it. Jays will need to have their sh1t together on Friday though.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2024 11:38 pmI told you the jays would winalmighty_tuna wrote: Fri Mar 22, 2024 7:27 amNo, I definitely mean "if"! In a crazy sort of way, the Jays winning the way they did in Double OT might serve them well on Friday. We’ll see..
On to the Sweet 16 once again!…

Huge game tonight..
It’s over 12 hours from tip off and I’m already pumped for the Jays..
By the way, that Jays win over Alabama is looking better and better; especially after the Tide knocked off North Carolina last night…

Yeah, for sure. Not that Kenpom or quad wins count for anything at this point, it still is a feather in the cap. The Jays definitely deserve to be where they're at. Tonight's matchup will be very tough.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 8:45 am By the way, that Jays win over Alabama is looking better and better; especially after the Tide knocked off North Carolina last night…

Re: Creighton Basketball 2023-2024
To further that, Creighton has beaten 2 of the 4 Elite Eight teams so far (Alabama and Uconn). Like mentioned above, none of that matters at this point but it does show that they can hang with anyone.
Hopefully tonight is one of those games that they come out hitting shots early. They didn't against Oregon, but Tenn is a huge step up as a team.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2023-2024
I’m currently at my in-laws in Cedar Rapids Iowa right now and they don’t have cable, so I went to a bar to watch the Creighton game and all they had was the women’s games on. So I went to another bar and they only have the Duke game on. Turn the Creighton game on, but pretty embarrassing that they don’t have on here. Really wish I was in Omaha.

Jay’s were up one at halftime, and then gave up an 18–0 run at one point (Might be their biggest run they’ve given up this year) Hopefully the big three can come back and finish strong and make it a game

Re: Creighton Basketball 2023-2024
Well, our Jays season has come to an end unfortunately..
They battled, but in the end, Tennessee was just a bit better and made more plays..
Kalk, Trey and Ashworth are all eligible to return..I believe they all should..
Great Career at CU for Baylor..
I think the future is bright for the Jays. Jason Green, I predict will be a stud; and a ton of athletic talent coming aboard..
On to next season- Go Jays!…

Another great season for Creighton basketball. A Sweet 16 finish is nothing to feel bad about. And 3 sweet 16’s in the last 4 years who would have thought that 10 years ago, I sure didn’t. The name exposure Creighton gets from this success is priceless.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2023-2024
Not the finish to the season the Jays wanted, but they didn’t quit. After that 18-0 by tenn some people gave up but the boys kept fighting and almost got the lead back. Baylor was an amazing player and without him, this team prob doesn’t even make the tournament. Wish Trey would have had a better night. Maybe there is an outside chance he will come back bc he surely isn’t getting drafted after the way he’s played this season.

Shatel literally went to 2 Creighton games all year. He did not go to the BE tournament or the Jays first 2 NCAA games. Having him give his "expert opinion" is beyond parody.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2023-2024
Yeah for whatever reason he and world herald staff were so excited to see the Huskers win their first tournament game when the Jays were shooting for the Elite Eight. A few years ago when he kept bashing McDermott, I wrote him an email and he actually responded so I will give him some credit. But there is a clear bias in paper and other news media. I get it before 5-10 years ago when CU was in the valley but now they are in one of the top 2-3 conferences in the country and just made 3 out of 4 Sweet 16’s yet the reporting is still the same old |expletive|.blueblood wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2024 1:48 pm Shatel literally went to 2 Creighton games all year. Good thing they will prob only be around a few more years in existence anyhow.

Like this interview: doesn’t sound like Trey is giving up coming back to Creighton
