It seems like top 100 high school recruits are losing some of their value in the NIL era.

Has anyone heard anything about Ahron Ulis, the transfer from Iowa, that sat due to the gambling issues? I believe he is supposed to be eligible next season, but I have not found anything one way or the other to confirm his status or plans.

His is still showing up on the official Huskers BB web page for the roster.

I remember seeing something late in the season posted by one of the writers that covers NU basketball. Most likely Robin Washut but could have been Jacob Bigelow. Said something like there had been a ruling on the other Iowa/Iowa State players and they were cleared to play next year. Basically, said that Ulis should be good to go as well and mentioned that he had been practicing with NU all year. I don't remember seeing anything official yet though.

Wilcher has one season of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-5, 214-pound Wilcher spent the past three seasons at Nebraska, where he played in 96 career games with 28 starts. He spent his first season of college basketball at Xavier.

I somehow missed this. I was about 50/50 on him coming back since if I remember correctly, he did go through senior day activities.

Nebraska makes Frankie Fidler's final four. He's visiting Michigan State this weekend. I've seen a lot of posts about him having Wisconsin out front and reteaming with Chuckie Hepburn. He's announcing his decision on 1620 live Monday morning. Others are speculating because of that, he's most likely headed to Creighton. Haven't really seen any speculation he's head to Nebraska:

Yeah I've thought Wisconsin is the favorite with Creighton 2nd. Not sure what to think of the delay. Don't know if Michigan State (where he visited this past weekend) made a strong impression? Or if there's some sort of NIL negotiations going on?

I have been reading elsewhere that it is possible that Mask will be out all year due to knee surgery. Nothing solid on this but it does seem to have some life to it. We will see.

I had not heard that. I did here that he might need another surgery. They (it was on 1620 but don't remember who was talking) seemed to speculate that the injury might be more of an inducement to stay. Also said he was never back to 100 percent after it. It was something they had to actively manage.

Nebraska lands Rutgers transfer guard Gavin Griffiths

Just days after officially visiting Lincoln this weekend, Gavin Griffiths knew he wanted to be a Husker. The 6-foot-8 Rutgers transfer guard and former top-50 recruit announced his commitment to Fred Hoiberg and Nebraska on Tuesday afternoon. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining. A former four-star recruit out of Kingswood-Oxford (Conn.) School, Griffiths appeared in 32 games with three starts this season as a true freshman at Rutgers. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, he was the No. 43 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle.

Well, maybe Wis is not the front-runner anymore.

The Bellevue West Grad is currently at WIS and has been reported to be entering the Portal ( C Hepburn.) Maybe the two of them will endo up together at Creighton or Nebraska

Yeah it's quite possible this is what caused Fidler not to announce Monday. Once Hepburn gave him a heads up that he was headed to the portal. Wisconsin also just lost AJ Storr. He along with Hepburn were two of Wisconsin's best. Storr and his girlified, who played for Wisconsin's women's team, both picked Kansas.

Nebraska basketball lands a commitment from
Wisconsin transfer guard Connor Essegian

Just hours after wrapping up a visit to Lincoln, Connor Essegian became the latest transfer addition for Nebraska basketball. The sophomore guard announced his commitment to the Huskers. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Essegian visited NU on Thursday after taking other trips to South Carolina, Maryland, and Indiana. Essegian was a Big Ten All-Freshman Team selection two seasons ago. The 6-foot-4 native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, averaged 11.7 points and 3.7 rebounds over 27.4 minutes per game during his Badgers debut.

With Fidler going to Michigan State will be interesting to see if Hepburn follows. Was hoping these guys would end up at Nebraska or at least stay local with Creighton. Still a shot though with Hepburn. Would expect him more likely at Creighton though.

I believe William Kyle III still hasn't committed yet either.
