Nebraska matched its season high in runs for the third time this season in a 16-4 thrashing of Maryland in seven innings on Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park to clinch a 2-1 series win over the Terrapins.
Nebraska baseball fought off weather and the Hawkeyes for a weekend series win. The Huskers took the series 2-1 over Iowa. NU is now 27-14 while Iowa falls to 24-17.

That's a good conference series win. Iowa is starting to round into the form many expected at the start of the year. Many forget Iowa was the preseason favorite to win the conference..

They repeatedly stated it was the first "9-inning" no-hitter since 54. I have to think the way they stated that over and over, there must be one or two since then on games that were less than 9 innings.

JACKSON BROCKETT THROWS 6TH NO-HITTER IN NEBRASKA BASEBALL HISTORY
Jackson Brockett tossed the sixth individual no-hitter in Nebraska baseball history, and the first nine-inning no-hitter since 1954, in Nebraska's 8-0 win over Kansas State on Wednesday night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.
It marked NU's first individual no-hitter since 1981, when Anthony Kelley didn't allow a hit over seven innings against the Oklahoma Sooners. It was just the second ever nine-inning individual no-hitter, joining Richard Geier's no-hitter in 1954 against the Kansas Jayhawks.
In his first start of the season, Brockett posted a career-high 12 strikeouts on 107 pitches which is the most punchouts by a Husker hurler since Will Walsh last season. The outing was the second complete-game shutout by a Nebraska pitcher this season, joining Brett Sears who tossed a two-hitter against Ohio State earlier this season.

They said Husker Extra that Nebraska had a no hitter in 2013, but it was a combined one by Kyle Kubat, Tyler Niederklein, and Dylan Voigt. Crazy thing, it was against Arkansas.

While I agree the variations are Multiple pitchers and, in some cases, a standard 7-inning game vs. 9. The 7-inning games do not seem as common as they used to be. It seems like they used to be more common during doubleheaders than now.

Let's see. They 're 30-15 overall, 12-5 in Big Ten play. So I guess you're right. How could they not get invited to the tournament at this point? I think it's safe to say Nebraska's pretty much a lock-in for the tournament.

Nebraska (32-18, 14-7 Big Ten) scored four runs on eight hits and committed an error, while Indiana (28-21-1, 13-8 Big Ten) totaled two runs on six hits and three errors. Jackson Brockett pitched five strong innings in his second start of the week, allowing just two runs across four hits while striking out three Hoosiers. Drew Christo tossed four shutout innings to move to 2-3 on the season. The junior surrendered just two singles and recorded a pair of strikeouts. Case Sanderson was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Josh Caron picked up two hits and an RBI, while Cole Evans was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Tyler Stone recorded a double, and Rhett Stokes had a hit and team-high two runs on Sunday.
LINCOLN — Nebraska doesn’t need Drew Christo to politic on its behalf to win a Big Ten baseball title. But the Husker pitcher did a good job anyway moments after his team claimed yet another weekend series. NU fights and perseveres, the junior right-hander said with feeling Sunday afternoon. Players stay in the moment. They mostly avoid the emotional rollercoaster inherent to the sport. As winners of 11 of 13 weekends, they’re consistent when it matters most.

Nebraska Baseball vs. Indiana Cinematic Recap
Nebraska Baseball battled back to take a 2-1 series win this past weekend vs. Indiana. The Huskers are currently 2nd in the B1G standings headed into the final series at Michigan State this weekend.
Runs were hard to come by on Thursday night. Nebraska came out on the right-side of a low-scoring affair and picked off a 2-1 win over Michigan State. The victory helped the Huskers keep pace with Illinois in the race for the Big Ten regular season crown. Head coach Will Bolt’s squad is 15-7 in conference play and is a game back of the Fighting Illini. Illinois downed Purdue 5-4 to move to 16-6 in the Big Ten.
Nebraska baseball’s bats powered them to a 11-3 win over Michigan State (23-26, 10-12), clinching the series and keeping their shot at being the Big Ten Champion alive. The Husker lineup recorded 13 hits, getting multiple hits from five different players in the lineup.
Junior left-handed pitcher Jackson Brockett (2.82 ERA) will get the ball on Saturday with the hope for a chance to win a championship. The first pitch is set for 11:00 a.m. CT in East Lansing, Michigan and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
