Re: Union Omaha 2024
We went and had a great time. Crowd was fun. Some of the Cauldron made the trip up from KC and set up shop on the northern end which added to the atmosphere. I was rooting for Omaha for the upset but have been a KC fan since long before Union existed (back to the Wizards days at Arrowhead) so I couldn't go wrong.
For having a limited selection, they seemed to be selling a lot of Union Omaha gear at the game.
Yeah, and the weather was perfect.

Re: Union Omaha 2024
Finals coming up! While a move up to USLC is largely predicated by having a wealthy owner and facility standards, having a team that wins is a huge part of keeping that fanbase engaged. Union Omaha have been doing that in spades and continue to succeed. Can't wait to see Union continue to evolve and grow. Go Owls!

Re: Union Omaha 2024
That was one of the best atmospheres in local sports in a long time. 5,849 fans is not a sell out, but it was a great crowd. It was loud with the drums, and the latin contingent that showed up with drums and other instruments were awesome. Having Nick Hexum out on the berm in pregame leading the drums was fun. The Parliament pregame tailgate was so much fun.
I'm still grinning ear to ear, and it's good to be reminded that local sports can actually be fun. Between Union and Storm Chasers, Werner Park saw some extremely memorable moments this season.
Gary Green inviting the entire fanbase to a full open bar and buffet on Twitter last night was classy and not something you'd see from most pro sports owners. Full props. I talked to him prior to the match. Just simply asked him the status of the stadium and his response as, "we are close....not there yet." Don't know anything more than that. But, I certainly hope this comes together soon.
