i wasn't paying attention when highwinds first posted that picture, but it also shows how different north downtown is since 2001!
That is exactly what I looked at on the that picture. If it showed a little more to the east you would also see the transformation that the Capitol District, CHI, Hilton Omaha, and Steelhouse have made on the area. Almost un-recognizable to around 2000 when this would have been taken.
I think UP made the biggest difference.

Although it's more in the heart of downtown, something just feels off about it not being there.

When I look at this image, it feels like there's something missing next to FNBT.

Looks like it might be as tall as Central Park Plaza when they raise the core next time.

Really like this angle to show the height difference of CPP, UP, Paxton and even the Hyatt Place.

Reaching the height of CPP would be a very exiting milestone!

Yes it would. It would also move it in to the top 15 tallest buildings in Omaha.

Prob right outside the top 20 or so. #21 is the Omaha Tower on 72nd St at 200 ft. This is probably around 180-190 ft right now.

Snapped this quick progress photo while in the FNBO Tower 23rd floor for a meeting on Thursday. Thought it was a cool angle to see all the activity going on. Sunny day!

If past performance is any indication, should be moving up early-mid week.

I was Downtoiwn earlier this afternoon. No movement on the tower height right now. I would suspect by the end of next week, we’ll see it rise another story…

This is right around the start of 2002. . .

I'm assuming Mutual will be looking similar to this around Fall of next year, based on the provided timeline!

Hopefully by fall of next year (2025) it is a lot further along than that. I think they plan to be occupying the building in 1st or 2nd quarter 2026. Mutual should look like this later this year, early next year.

Oh, so their going to have in occupied by 2026?

I thought the building would be completed at that point, and after they could start moving in.

Very interesting. . . it'll be exiting to see Omaha in a year from now.

I can say one thing for certain....I wouldn't want to be up in the tower crane when one of those storms blow through.

My sister dated a guy who worked in the crane cab on Midtown Crossing and there was a storm once and they told him to stay up there, but he came down instead.

I think this may be the last picture of an optical illusion. MoO tower appearing to being part of the central towers structure.

It doesn't appear that the core will rise above the UP Center prior to CWS - for television purposes of course.

The addition of floors has slowed it seems.

True, based on earlier predictions, the core should have moved up nearly a week ago.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the core becomes a little more compact above the garage, especially on the western side.

I believe it went up one story because you can see the 14th floor and it should be the 15th and 16th underneath the Yellow section.

I was downtown this afternoon. The Mutual Tower is standing 14 stories tall at present..one story less than the Twin Towers..

Hopefully we’ll see an additional 1 to 2 stories of height gain during the CWS time frame…

It is 14 stories, but as mentioned before, there are 2 stories being worked on under the yellow slip section, so altogether it is 16 stories currently.

The elevator shaft is on the rise this afternoon. I would assume the slight delay would be due to modifications needed for the attachment of steel the the main core.

Where did they add steel? For a second I thought you meant that they attached the crane to the core, which would mean that they are closer to raising the crane up, but I don't think that is the case yet.

27 days for the latest levels indicates to me that the core changed now that it’s above the garage.

honest question: could it be that they need the garage to catch up so that they can do steel work above the garage, and then attach the crane to that? I can't imagine they are going to physically move the crane, and it would be a good distance away from the core if that's where they were going to anchor it without steel?

I noticed metal attachments on the corners of the 13th floor core which (I'm guessing) might be structural tie-offs for the crane. I can imagine long metal arms reaching from those 2 points to the crane. Again, I'm only guessing. They certainly cannot wait till the garage is built to continue pouring the core structure.

A good amount of the core above the 12th floor will have to be completed anyway before they could attach steel to it.
