It was a memorable day for Husker fans as many watched the Husker baseball team win it's first Big Ten Championship title from inside The Chuck.

When I tuned in to the game, Penn State was leading 1-0. I'll admit I had my doubts. I wasn't sure if Nebraska was going to be able to pull it off, but sure enough, they did. Josh Caron is a very good player. He sure knows how to knock 'em out of the ballpark.

Nebraska heading to Stillwater regional for NCAA baseball tournament, will face Florida



Nebraska is going to the Stillwater regional for the NCAA baseball tournament. The Huskers (39-20) will face Florida (28-27) on Friday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+ in the double-elimination regional. Oklahoma State (4017) will play Niagara (38-15). Nebraska completed a come-from-behind win Sunday to claim the program's first Big Ten tournament championship. Including NU, the Big Ten has three teams in the field: Illinois and Indiana join the Huskers. The College World Series will start on June 14, with the best-of-three finals on June 22-24.

Some people out there are calling it a rematch of the 1996 Fiesta Bowl. But I don't see it that way because it was their football teams that played, not their baseball ones.

The only real place I saw it, or at least that it originated was during the selection show on ESPN yesterday. Kyle Peterson (from Omaha) and Matt Schick (who lived and worked here while on channel 7) brought it up. They were joking with it. I was watching it live. Nothing to get worked up about folks....

Nebraska baseball is back in the NCAA tournament after a two-year postseason drought. Here's what you need to know to watch the Huskers' opener against Florida. Nebraska is the No. 2 seed in the Stillwater Regional, and will take on No. 3 seed Florida on Friday at 2 p.m. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.

The winner of the opener will take on the victor of Friday's 6 p.m. matchup between No. 1 seed Oklahoma State and No. 4 seed Niagara. The winners bracket game will be played on Saturday at 7 p.m., and the losers will face off in an elimination game set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
