Each one about 20 ft tall.
I liked that your photo also shows signs of renovation going on at the twin buildings.

Nice. You can also start seeing the floor height difference between the occupied floors and garage floors.

Thanks for the info!!
No problem. Last I heard they were not sure what weekend, just "early August"
Heard it’s still on for today but only going up 100’
Hydraulic Ram broke on Saturday. Going to try and get a new one by this weekend.

Cowboy posted this in the streetcar thread but at 9:10 the host says that he has been told that Mutual is thinking about adding apartments to the top floor of this tower. I had not heard that from anywhere else. Has anyone else heard that?

I caught that too. I'm guessing if true this would only be for Mutual employees. Interesting rumor. It seems more likely they'd explore developing the adjacent lot with apartments.

The adjacent lot would make much more sense. Turning the top into apartments would only work if you’re talking top-executives. Build on the adjacent lot!

Looking at the city cam it looks like it did go up some. In Brad’s pictures from the end of July it looked to be about as tall as the UP building but now it’s looks taller.

Here is the current KETV city cam. From this angle before, you couldn’t even see the crane:

Thanks for sharing! Wonder if the pace of the core will pick up now that the garage is getting pretty high; along with the raising of the crane.

We're still a good 5 stories from having it peek above the UP building.

I am still thinking we will see the pace pick up once the parking garage section is complete. That part alone probably requires more manpower and time than other parts of the project. Hopefully by the end of the year we will start seeing a drastic increase in building height.

Right now, it would be 18th floor under the yellow section, but as mentioned, the floors above the garage have a much higher height per floor, so each additional floor will be increasing the building more than the garage sections. As for floors, its only going to be 44, so they technically only have about 26 floors to go.

Once the garage section is complete, will the occupied section be more steel consctruction aside from the obviously concrete core?

From what I understand it should be somewhere around 350 ft right now. At its highest, the crane will reach 780 ft....can't wait to see your response then.

New Mutual of Omaha headquarters and 780-foot-tall crane will break city records

I had thought it only raised the one section I took pics of last night but starting to think it was more and I just caught the end. I never actually saw the crane go up; just them putting in the last piece.

I'm really looking forward to seeing glass start to go up on this tower.

I was recently in Denver, and I couldn't help but notice that Mutual's façade will look very similar to that of 1144 Fifteenth, based on renderings.

Same architecture firm as the Mutual tower, Pickard Chilton. I do see a similarity between the two buildings. That’s the best looking newer skyscraper built in Denver in a long time.

Yes they had 4-20ft sections that they used, so it went up 80 ft last night.

That's what I suspected. Picked Chilton has designed a lot of really nice towers.

I was informed steel will begin to arrive on site soon (a few weeks) and is scheduled to be installed almost immediately as it arrives due to limited storage onsite for excess materials (a family member works for the company that is supplying the steel)

Don’t they need to finish the garage first? That could take months more.

I've noticed the 9th deck of the parking garage is different than all he rest. For some reason it's leveled out. I wonder if the remaining floors will be constructed differently. Possibly lighter materials to reduce the load on the structure? I don't know if anyone else noticed that from the last post on "big ole hole".

I just had a thought pop in to my head...

Floors 1-7 were basically all ramp, one ramp on the north side and one ramp on the south side. However every floor you go up in a parking garage there is less and less traffic. Garage floor 15 won't see nearly the traffic as floor 2. I wonder if on floor 8, they are converting to a single ramp to go the rest of the way up?

Since it’s the midway point, maybe it’s a turnaround floor where vehicles can start going down instead of up? You can see the tie-in points on the core showing it will go back to being slanted.

With this newest level, I think its safe to say this building now surpassed both the Landmark Center and World Herald building.

So it should be in the Top 10 and maybe as high as 7th tallest in the city.
