Post by WorldStreet »

I had been curious about what this area looks like. The Platte is my favorite river.

Looks a little different than when I flew over in a helicopter back in 2014. I thought the two different colored water was neat.

I was looking for that in the video....I couldn't remember where I saw it, but it must have been your picture.

I was very surprised to find out that the Platte as we know it in eastern Nebraska is mostly just the Loup river.

The Loup River ends south of Columbus, right?

Does the Loup River have a larger volume than the Platte where they meet?

That photo is interesting. I didn't notice any difference in watercolor last month. I wish it would have been noticeable.

Yeah, I know the canals, fished them plenty of times for channel cat. But do you know about the volumes of the Loup and Platte at Columbus?

Loup before Columbus : https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/invento ... o=06793000
Platte before Columbus : https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/invento ... o=06774000
Platte after Columbus : https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/invento ... o=06796000

Maybe they are about even.
