I could definitely see a 7-0 Husker team to meet OSU this year. But I don’t think we have a shot against them. Or USC. We are certainly improved, but I just can’t see us competing at that level yet.

Line for the weekend has us as a 32 point favorite against UNI. They are ranked in FCS by some polls.

To go back to that, a LOT of $$$$$ need to be taken out of the process. I deal with Peacock better than Friday Night games. Leave Friday night for high school

I'm not a fan of having to have multiple streaming services to catch all the games. But I recall a time where they weren't even on TV at all for some games. I likely will be camping during that game so I probably will listen to it on the radio like the real old days. Plus it's not a real big game. And the Friday night games are another case of if not on a non traditional college football Saturday, the game wouldn't be shown. Winning would make both go away.

38 - 17 and that it could be wider but I suspect there could be a lot of second and third-string playing by the mid-third quarter

Of interesting note Northern Iowa has never ever played at Memorial stadium. I just found this out. Think they are one of the few if not only regional surrounding state DI programs to have not .

Up until 2017 or so, most Nebraska football games were on ABC. That's what I grew up with.

Yeah, back when they were good they were almost always on ABC. It's the 2002-2008 years where there were some games that weren't televised, or at least on some fringe network that it was basically untelevised. Since then, the sports networks have done a good job of airing some of the less popular games. Before the BTN, there'd probably be 3 or 4 games a year that just weren't seen outside the stadium.

I feel like I can almost guarantee that Ohio state game is going to be an ABC night game, or Fox big noon at the very least.

I can guarantee that the Ohio State game will NOT be on ABC. The ABC/ ESPN family or stations do not have any contract for B1G games starting this year through the 29/30 season. The only way they will be on ABC is if it is a non-con road game or a bowl game

The current contract is with Fox / CBS / and NBC and their subset of stations.

I felt it was a little odd for them to be on NBC. I thought NBC was always in bed with Notre Dame, but I guess that's changed.

Skers haven't been on CBS in a long while, same for NBC. Must be new this year. I can't speak to the quality as I haven't really watched a game yet. What's the deal? Today is my first Saturday off of the season.

All the TV contracts with the conferences were up the last couple years so the deals changed. Basically Fox gets the Big Ten game at 11, CBS at 2:30, and NBC the night game.

ESPN/ABC took over the SEC contract so no more big SEC games on CBS like had been the case for the past two decades.

Yes, the glory days of the 80s they were on CBS.

Colt Mccoy made his debut last week during the NU/CU game. He wasn't well received. link

The production was also lousy with replay timing, etc.

It's halftime. Nebraska's leading 21-3. Not bad. Unfortunately, they missed that 4th down conversion at the end.

A rare Friday game for the Big Red this week. Big 10 play starts. This season sure is more fun than the last 7, almost seems like a dream. What a Big difference winning makes. Finally a Nebraska Head Coach earning his pay.

And a Top 25 match up as Illinois cracked the AP poll at #24 and Nebraska moves up to #22. Been a while since NU has hosted or been in a ranked vs. ranked game.

The media always does this - Hypes up Nebraska's opponent, says they're a tougher team than the one they played, but then Nebraska ends up destroying them.

They did it after Nebraska beat UTEP. They said Colorado was going to be a challenge, but Nebraska beat them. Then they said Northern Iowa would be a tough team. I suppose in a way they were, but Nebraska beat them by at least 30 points. Now here they are saying the same thing about Illinois. "Nebraska hasn't played a real opponent yet," "They're a very tough team," etc. For all I know, Nebraska might end up taking down Illinois by at least 20.

Watching the three games, it seems to me Nebraska doesn’t come out with urgency after half time. I understand they were ahead but they need to get in the habit of pushing hard offensively in the third quarter or they are going to ‘pay for it’ on some of these games.

I think as we enter conference games, that lack of second half production will bite the Skers, at least to the point of making games a little closer than they should be. Or maybe they're just saving gas and getting all the guys reps, which would be a good thing.

I don't think they'll lose at home to Illinois. 400th sellout, crowd will be INTO it. I'd think maybe Illinois will score a few more points that the other teams thus far, but I'm still talking maybe 14. This defense is legit one of the best in the country. For once in the last 8 years, I feel pretty secure that none of the usual mediocre teams are gonna beat us. I got my eye on Indiana, but outside of them, I don't really see anybody stopping them from a 7-0 start.

I just want to also say it's good to watch good football again. I'd still be happy if they just get to a bowl game, but being already halfway there and seeing how much better they are on offense, along with seeing some other conference opponents stumbling... I'll stick with my preseason expectation of just making a bowl, but I see much, much more than that on the table. 10-2 is looking really not so far fetched to me right now. Long as they stay healthy, those conservative second halves look like part of the bigger picture.

Matt Rhule already has 8 wins, Scott Frost had 16 his whole time at Nebraska. Granted I think 2020 was shortened somewhat by the Pandemic. Rhule just looks like he knows what he’s doing more than Frost and is better with the Media, so far he’s a great hire.

That seems fair considering we are #22 and they are close behind at #24. Home field is probably why it's as big as it is.

That kind of range seems fair. I think they'll hold our offense a bit down, and the Skers will hold theirs down. I'll just throw out my prediction today because I have no idea. Illinois Offense looks almost as good as Nebraska's, albeit through 3 weeks
