I think it was just earlier this week that there was a promo from UNL that showed two games with availability and said less than 700 for each game

Yes, I ended up getting a pair of tickets for the UCLA game. I was mad at first because after I bought them a few hours later I went back and there were many more available and some in closer seats, but by the next day everything was completely sold out.

I still don’t care for college football being played on Friday nights. That’s for high school football. Saturday is for college. And of course Sunday is for the NFL. So is Monday night.

Greg Sharpe will not be on the radio broadcast tonight for the game against Ill.

He is batting pancreatic cancer, as most know. He has done the first three games with a backup in the booth in case they were needed; he has handled the entire coverage for the first three games.

This report says that he has a scheduled treatment.

Thoughts and prayers are with him as he continues with this challenging struggle.

I don't care much for it either, not a big fan of night games anymore too. But for me at least it's a free game day that I don't have to take off. I'm fine with once a year. Tonight's the 4th Friday night game for the Skers as far as I care to look back (not black Friday), and 3 of them have been vs Illinois. Maybe they're trying to make it a tradition. Outside of this stretch of Friday night games, the Huskers even had a few year stretch of Thursday night games in the late 2000's. I think winning will fix not playing on Saturday.

Yeah, I'm pulling for him. When I go camping for the Rutgers and/or the Purdue games, I planned on just listening on the radio for the first time in a while, and was hoping to hear him on the call. But totally understand.

It’s halftime now and Nebraska leads 17-10. This is proving to be a challenging game.

Be interesting to see how Nebraska rebounds from this game, a tough loss. Illinois looked like the better team in the 4th quarter and overtime. Time to hit the road next week.

Well, I suppose the only good thing about this loss is that it was in overtime.

Bielema is a great coach and it showed. Nebraska was completely out coached. This should have been a pound the rock game and don't get too cute with the passing game. Way too much reliance on the passing game. Are Rhule and Satterfield on the same page?! Special teams is still a weakness.

Way too many penalties, they need to clean that up big time. And the D and special teams continue to get shredded.

Watching the three games, it seems to me Nebraska doesn’t come out with urgency after half time. I understand they were ahead but they need to get in the habit of pushing hard offensively in the third quarter or they are going to ‘pay for it’ on some of these games.
Make that four games, although Illinois made the Husker defense not look as good as it had the first three games, I feel there is something missing in the second half. Maybe the other team making the adjustments and Nebraska can’t

Second half play has been lackluster. This should be a big concern . I do think Illinois is a very good team and will give lots of teams fits.

Illinois is a good team. I knew it would be close, just thought it'd go the other. Brett Bielema typically has Nebraska's number, outside of a couple games. Whoever thought Eggbert could be feared around here?

Where did the defense go?

Yes, Nebraska has no second half prowess whatsoever. Gotta fix that.

I now think they could start 5-2 or 3-4. They're dropping at least one more before Ohio State. We really don't know Rutgers and Purdue, but we know Indiana, and I think the Skers may well lose that one at least.

I see no way the Skers don't win three more, which is really all I was expecting. So while I feel somewhat deflated, I can't complain too much. Who really thought we were going to the big ten championship?

I hope people don't start calling for Matt Rhule to be fired. What do they expect? Undefeated seasons and national championships every year? That's just not possible.

Rhule? I don't think so. Satterfield, yes, if they can't start producing a more balanced attack. 48 net rush yards isn't going to cut it in the BIG10.

From the jump, I was more worried about Rhule using Nebraska as a springboard than him not working out. No way he's getting fired.

He has 8 wins already. By this point into their tenures, Scott Frost had 5, by comparison. I don't think anybody is calling for his head, if they are, they done lost it.

Im not watching the game because it's only Peacock, but I'll listen to it on the radio. I expect a pretty handy win from the Skers. I'll put my prediction in at 31-17.

This is basically a must win game for Nebraska along with UCLA as they are both the weakest teams left on the schedule. The other games will be much harder to get a win than these two. I’m concerned about Nebraska’s defense after last week. Nebraska needs to shake off last week’s loss.

So, games all but over. From what I've listened to, the script was flipped. Atrocious first half, and an as you'd expect second half. 28-3 at the moment. How? I really don't know, but a win is a win.

Game’s over. Nebraska won 28-10. They played really sloppy in the first half but came alive in the second. Especially in the 4th quarter.

4-1. Two wins to go. I think they can do it, 6-6. That's all I care about now. That was my initial expectation prior to the season, but after the start, I admittedly drank all the Kool-Aid, was hoping for 10-2. They're starting to look at little shaky. I'll take 6-6, anything more is icing. I think they really are right around top 25-30. Wouldn't be surprised by 6-6 or 8-4.

Me too I’ll be happy with 6 wins, before Illinois I was thinking 8. Just getting to a bowl game will be fun. After the last 8 years of misery.

So Nebraska plays Rutgers this week back home at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The game will be at 3:00 on FS1.

Really important game to win. Rutgers and UCLA look the most likely wins left on the table. Drop either of them and the road to 6-6 looks a lot tougher. And that's not to say Rutgers is the same old Rutgers. They've actually been having a good season so far. I think this'll be closer than we like, but I'm going Husker win 28-24.

I know nothing about Rutgers, just that they are 4-0. It’s hard to keep track of what teams are even in the Big10. A win tomorrow would be awesome, the schedule is getting harder now.

Nebraska again will have much more talent but If they don't out rush Rutgers they very well could lose this game. Rutgers runs the ball well but are not great at defending it. NU has four quality running backs (plus Haarberg) along with the best O-line since Frost's first season. This should be a no-brainer game plan for Rhule & Satt.

Weird first half but Huskers up 14-0. Raiola’s worst pass of the year on that interception and an intentional grounding have been his most freshman moments this year.

Hope the second half isn’t as bad as almost every other second half this year.

Makes that Illinois loss sting that much more...

5-1 is nice, but still not real confident in them. Continuing to perform like they have might buy them enough luck for 6-6 or 7-5. Which would be fine.
