Unsolicited partisan newspaper?

Post by FlatwaterTurley »

Hey all, this is Flatwater Free Press reporter Jeremy Turley asking for crowdsourcing help. I'm looking into a left-leaning partisan newspaper/website that popped up just a few months ago. It's called The Nebraska Independent
(https://nebraskaindependentnews.com/), and it might have landed in your mailbox unsolicited if you live in the 2nd Congressional District. If you got a copy of this newspaper, I'd love to hear from you! Please DM me here or send an email to [email protected]. Thanks!!

What does it matter that it shows up in the mail unsolicited? Over 50% of the mail I receive is unsolicited. What point are you trying to drive home with this spin?

We did and it went straight in the trash like every other political mailing. I hate politics and all political mail goes straight in to the trash. Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal... doesn't matter, straight in to the trash.

We actually haven’t noticed hardly any political related mailings. There is still another 4 weeks until Election Day so that may yet change.
Since most of our bills are sent and paid electronically most of our mail is unsolicited spam/junk. Even that is minor compared to the levels we got 10 years ago.
Of course replacing all the volumes of junk mail we used to get is the torrent of junk emails I get every day. That takes longer to separate and get rid of than the old fashioned kind, but at least trees weren’t cut down in their manufacture.

I didn't get the paper. I have lots I could say, if I may have permission. Not surprising politics are never discussed here, but they are indeed pertinent discussions in Omaha.

Full disclosure, I don't feel motivated to vote. I don't feel my ideals line up with really any of the candidates on the ballot. Both parties are so far on the other end of the room it's incredibly hard to side with one.

All I did notice was the blue dot thing. I thought it was funny, yet commendable that some people retaliated with a red Nebraska sign. It's all fair. All I really noted that, at least in my neighborhood is most of those properties with the blue dot probably put more effort into obtaining and placing that sign than they put into caring for their property or otherwise not being shifty neighbors. So I don't know, the blue dot thing really turned me off.
