It was actually a good game. Even though they lost, I really don't feel bad about it. It wasn't supposed to be anywhere near that close, and the Skers actually commanded most aspects of the game and led late. Nobody thought that was possible. To have the #4 team on the ropes pretty much all game, on the road, that's positive.

If they bring that intensity next week, we should shore up our bowl game.

In a strange way, I almost felt like I was watching a Nebraska/Oklahoma game.

Wow. Football season always goes by so quick. Don't look, only four games left. Hope they can pull one more win out. My hope is they will win their last two home games against UCLA and finally beat Wisconsin. Maybe beat Iowa on the road. Today gave me hope.

UCLA's not having such a great season. They're only 2-5. I’d say that game is a winnable one. After that is USC. And while they have a slightly better record than UCLA, they’re not exactly having a stellar season either. They’re 4-4. But I believe that’s also a winnable game.

Im feeling much more confident in the UCLA game now. Before, that even felt a bit iffy. I think UCLA will be the 6th win, and I now think all the others have at least some degree of winnability.

Rain all day and UCLA has 452 yards on the ground all season. Hopefully NU can tun the ball and put it away early.

I just checked the forecast. There’s a 40% chance of rain on Saturday. I sure hope the game doesn’t get rained out. That would not be good.

The 9/28 last year vs Louisiana Tech had a ton of rain as well (along with lightning that caused a delay) but the game went on. I remember being soaked. The biggest difference this weekend if the high is only 60 and its raining, that is going to be cold and damp.

At this time, there's only .02" of rain forecast between 1pm and 7pm and no thunder. Low 60s, cloudy, and breezy. It could be somewhat uncomfortable, but it doesn't sound too bad. Would be slightly worried about fumbles and wobbly passes.

LOL, don't know how long they been doing this but the stadium was trolling the refs by playing Complicated by Avril Lavigne when they were reviewing the deep catch.

In other news, I wasn't liking the start. Save that unsportsmanlike call, the Skers had like 3 yards. upset poor. I think they be lucky to have 7 now.

I guess I'm a bit puzzled why the Huskers just let the clock run out on the first half instead of trying to make something happen, and with two timeouts left.

I wasn't surprised. I actually agreed with it. They weren't doing anything, whatsoever. They stunk so bad, just get off the field before you screw anything else up.

Add a pick 6 to it now. I'm bout to check out.

Oof. I felt that Raiola injury. I've had a lower spine injury and the pain is just unreal. You can't walk. He couldn't walk. I got through it over time with therapy, but it took a couple months.

Got dang it! Haarberg did great. He hit every receiver right in the hands! Help a man out!

Just a terrible game. They had a chance, Haarberg did a great job giving them a chance, but the receivers couldn't catch the balls. Haarberg has a lot more zip than Raiola, that was evident. I think Haarberg should probably start the rest of the games. Save Raiola the pain.

It looks like another 5-7 season. Unless they can find a win in the last three games. Maybe they can knock off Iowa or Wisconsin, USC in Cali looks less likely. I was thinking they would win this game, this team is up and down. Rhule is earning his paycheck now.

They are in crisis mode as far as I’m concerned, or should be.

Nebraska had no business losing this game. UCLA is having a bad season this year. They’re not a powerhouse, they’re a meaningless cupcake team. Nebraska should have easily won this one.

That’s not really a fair assessment. Two minute drills have a more basic play selection and a much more lax secondary defensive scheme. All that said, satterfield needs to be calling more vertical passing plays earlier. And raiola needs to calm down in the pocket. He’s thinking too much these past few games.

I’m not ready to give up yet. There are still 3 games left. They’re not all guaranteed losses. Well, Wisconsin maybe. But USC and Iowa are winnable.

Sorta funny, but not needed. Even if the Skers are failing, it's still a sports topic.

As to what I was saying about the final drive, my point was if the receivers had just caught the damn balls Haarberg was giving them, they just might have stood a good chance of scoring. I mean what can you do? Haarberg threw like at least two or three 20 to 30 air yard balls right on the money and the receiver(s) dropped them all. He couldn't have handed them to them better.

Plus if what pain I saw Raiola going through was anything like it appeared, tied in with him not getting it done ((no offense)pun intended)), just save the young man the pain these last few games. It's not like he's been lighting it up the past few weeks anyway. Keeping him out there isn't going to save the season.

Spanning this season and last, NU is currently 0-7 in games to clinch a bowl game appearance.

Oh, and Florida State is 1-8.

How the game ended in an alternate timeline or parallel universe:

There's less than 2 minutes left in the game. Dylan Raiola or Heinrich Haarberg doesn't throw an interception to a UCLA defender. Instead, the pass gets caught by Jacory Barney Jr. for a first down. Then, Raiola or Haarberg throws another pass and it's caught by Demitrius Bell for a touchdown. The extra point is also good. So the game is tied at 27. There's about 1:30 left. UCLA gets the ball. Nebraska's defense stops them. UCLA tries to go for it on 4th down, but the pass is broken up. So Nebraska takes over on downs. There's not much time left. Only 30 seconds. It comes down to the wire as UCLA holds Nebraska to a field goal. So with only 2 seconds left, Tristan Alvano kicks the field goal and it's good. That's the ballgame. Nebraska wins 30-27. They get their 6th win and become bowl eligible for the first time in 8 years.

Me too, after watching the Colorado game I thought they had finally arrived. But now they don’t even look like an average team. They look tired and worn out who just want the season over with. A 5-7 record will be the most likely outcome, another disappointing season and the horrendous bowl drought continues . This is a lot for fans to put up with especially when you look at the success of other nearby teams like K-State , Iowa State, Iowa and Mizzou.
