Don’t know where else to put this but as a Hawkeye fan I’m kinda jealous. Nebraska has been on a roll this week. The men beat Creighton. Then Saturday was like a showcase on Big10 network in Lincoln. The football team then the volleyball team both beat Wisconsin! Pretty unique I thought

Great personality, family man, played at NU, outstanding youtube videos and podcasts. Last week he interviewed Tom Osborne & Charlie McBride. He's just a great guy to listen to and more than that he has great insights into NU football. For me it's a welcome relief as I live in Michigan Wolverine country and they still haven't gotten over 1997 and more than that Michigan fans are among the most arrogant fans I've ever seen.

Anyway, here's a link to his youtube channel:

If he's been promoted here I'm sorry. He's just a good guy
Doesn't matter if he has been mentioned. Always a great reminder and appreciate your take on him. I agree he is a good level headed listen. I follow him on Instagram and really like his short takes in near real-time on things. IF you don't follow him there you should

The only thing missing from complete weekend was that the Women's Basketball lost to the Jays on Friday

After yesterday, it feels much more like a winnable game. Iowa is almost always within reach. Just looking at common opponents, both teams recently lost to UCLA, however the Skers actually showed up against OSU, whereas Iowa got blown out. We shall see. I'd think it'll be a good game.
I do, too. If Nebraska can beat Wisconsin, surely they can beat Iowa.

Husker fans storming the field hasn't happened since 2015 when Nebraska upset an undefeated and #7 ranked Michigan State.

Right. I just watched a YouTube video of Husker fans storming the field after the Colorado game. The PA announcer kept telling fans to stay off the field, but they didn't.

They made the same announcement for the WIs game. It didn't come off either time as more than a requirement that the lawyers had them state. There was no conviction to the statements.

Game's over. Iowa came back and won 13-10 on a last-second field goal. How many times has that happened before?

Three miraculous plays. The muffed punt, the kaleb johnson catch and run where two nebraska defenders knocked bullocks off johnson as he was tackling, the last minute strip sack. Iowa did absolutely nothing without those.

How many times has it happened? It comes down to the last second, then Iowa kicks a field goal and wins it. Frankly, it's getting old.

I swear these games are scripted or Iowa is the luckiest team of the last ten years. Holgorsen's second half play calling was garbage.

Hats off to Iowa for making that last second not so easy field goal, very clutch play. Good luck in the bowl game Nebraska at least the season isn’t over today. Iowa won the turnover battle yet again.

I guess I can’t be too disappointed. I mean, after all, Nebraska did get 6 wins this season and are going to a bowl game for the first time since 2016. So I can’t hang my head too much.

But if anyone needs any cheering up, Wisconsin is where we were last year. They lost to Minnesota 24-7 yesterday and finished their season 5-7. So they will not be going to a bowl game for the first time since 2001.

No, that “luckiest” honor goes to this years Kansas City Chiefs..

As far as the Huskers, I’ll just say it straight (and as frustrated a fan as I can be right now)- Nebraska is a stupid football team..and makes critical mental mistakes at the most critical times. Iowa doesn’t. I’ve seen this script over and over and over and over again. Nothing changes. Just more embarrassment and waste of time nonsense. This is why I have zero joy watching football anymore..Honestly..

The same exact thing happened in Lincoln last year with the exact same score result: 13-10 Iowa..

Sickening and pathetic…

I know you were joking, but everybody, and I mean everybody, has to get over the idea that games are scripted.

The Chiefs are the luckiest in the last 5 years or so.

I'd put Iowa at #2.

I'd put the Huskers at over #9,000.

At least it wasn't the end of the season.

At this point, being completely honest again as a fan, I couldn’t care less about the “frozen pond bowl” the Huskers will be competing in..

Until they smarten up and poise up, they will continue to embarrass and disappoint.. Are you really happy with this 6-6 season? Really happy? Is that REALLY progress? I remember a time, 20 or so years ago, when a 9-3 record was unacceptable to this fan base and a head coach was FIRED because of it..This team should have won 8 games this year- they EASILY should have..

I get looking at the sunshine and roses of the “bright side of things”.. But some of you are really squinting now…

Cowboy, did you forget just a couple seasons ago our boys were "the best 3-9 team in college football history"? We hung our hats on the idea "we might be total losers, but darn it, we aren't gonna make it easy on ya".

For what we've been working with the last 8 years, I'm okay with at least making a bowl game.

I find underachieving incompetence unacceptable..

And regardless of our recent incompetent history, we should still not accept it.. Yesterday's loss still angers and sickens me..and regardless of the 6-6 sunshine pumping bowl game eligible Huskers, their season performance..and also specifically, their stupidity and clown show embarrassment of losing to Iowa, after OUTPLAYING them once again, is absolutely and totally unacceptable and sickening..

I should be “excited” about the “ice bowl” the Huskers will play in this year?..

Sorry..as a fan, that’s a hard pass…

If anybody wants to provide commentary on any of my points, feel free.

I wasnt expecting much more than an improvement on last season. I thought 6-6 was my acceptable floor, and 8-4 was my ceiling.

And then...

I was surprised they beat Colorado, at all, but so soundly at that. Colorado is now where we'd like to be, 9-3, and looking good doing it.

I was surprised they even started 5-1, let alone barely missing out on starting 6-0.

They had Ohio state on the ropes, and that's putting it lightly.

Hey, we finally beat Wisconsin

The bar was pretty low, SO, 6-6 is technically better than 5-7, etc.

Am I really happy? No. It could have been much better. There were lots of opportunities for it to be better. But, my expectations weren't too high. It was only when they surprised me with the 5-1 start that I started to get hyped. And I should have known better.

Im okay with breaking the longest bowl-less streak in the country. It's a start.

As a side note, I'd love (and hate) to see a historical graph of Huskers win percentage by season. Just to put it in perspective. I'd have to think we were at rock bottom a couple years ago.

Sorry..

No amount of sunshine pumping can change this for me..

I’ve already packed away the Husker football 2024 season as yet another example of underachieving failure..

I understand they’re “bowl eligible” now after 8 years..But this season didn’t really reflect progress to me. So they won 6 games.. Whoopty do.. They should have won 8..

The loyal fan base deserves much better. Despite 6-6 (the bar is set so absolutely low for some), the Huskers and their coaching staff failed to deliver once again..

We’ll see what 2025 brings..But I’m not holding my breath for improvement. Pardon my skepticism.. But I have VERY good reason for it- on the field evidence is very telling…

I agree, they got bowl eligible by beating a bad Wisconsin team, who lost again today to a bad Minnesota team... They are no better than last year. 6-6 or 5-7, they are bad either way.

Iowa just waits for Nebraska to make mistakes and then capitalizes on them, they do this every year, Iowa seldom has turnovers and keeps penalties to a minimum, Friday they had just one penalty and zero turnovers.

Ferentz has figured the Big 10 out, win the turnover battle, keep penalties low and have a great defense, you will win most of your games. Against the really good teams this formula won’t work thats why Ohio State blew them out, and you will most likely never win a national championship, but it will get you 6-10 wins a year. And will make for happy Hawkeye fans and a long head coaching career.
