Yes they both need to go. Barta was a moron for giving them both extensions and huge raises for medicore results. At least KF has won some games, Francis has done next to nothing.

Jays won 93-87. Pop Issacs scored 24 and Kalk 18, Ashworth 16. Keep in mind this was the #14 team in the nation they were playing.

I was most impressed by the crowd. 15,500 and most stayed all the way to the end. Never have seen that for an exh game.

The game was closer than most expected but Rio Grande was hitting 3's and Creighton wasn't. Add to that, CU's leading scorer Pop Isaacs was out.

But the good was Kalk got the 2nd most points for a Bluejay ever and made the most FG in school history. Pretty impressive that he was 20-22 and even 2-2 on 3's. He was 7-8 on FT and McDermott joked that if he would have made that other one he could have gotten to 50.

Another record....Ashworth broke the school record and shot 17-17 at the FT line.

One more record broken by Kalk as well: He just passed Kyle Korver for 6th place all-time at CU. Up next is Bob Portman 57 pts away from 5th place. He has a very good chance to end up #2 all-time.

Jays won big yesterday (as they should have) defense was much better.

And after this game Kalk still leads the nation in scoring at 36.5!

I truly hope that Creighton fans understand just how good we have it right now:

From the OWH:
only four power conference schools have ever had two consecutive coaches each win 300+ games: Kansas (Roy Williams and Bill Self), Michigan State (Jud Heathcoat and Tom Izzo), Purdue (Gene Keady and Matt Painter) — and Creighton. That’s it. That’s the list.

Yep. For those football Jayskers longing for the T.O. years of success in the 90s, this is the now for the Jays' men's basketball team. Enjoy it, this doesn't come along very often.

Credit to Nebraska for guarding Kalk so aggressively last night, but seriously only 1 shot attempt from the best center in America and that was a 3. Now with Ashworth out for a little while I suspect. Creighton is really going to have to dig deep to see who can handle the ball. Based on last night, the jays are back to live and die by the 3 more than they have been for the past few years.

Yeah, that was a fugly few steps backwards last night. The squad is definitely not as well rounded as they should be. Gotta be able to successfully switch strategies from outside shooting to anything.

Thankfully the Jays didn't fall from the rankings after Friday's bad loss. Still #21, with a week full of big games that more than likely will all be without ashworth. San Diego St, Texas A&M and then a 3rd game on Saturday.

They will fall out of them after today. Totally outplayed and Kalk was shut down big time by San Diego State. Shot 6-31 from deep. This is an uneven team with Ashworth, without him they are truly middling.

Well, I guess I came across a little doom and gloom. Once Ashworth is back they'll still have an outside shot at the Big East.

Very frustrating to watch the last couple of games. Just poor play all around. The post-game commentators skewered the Jays. Granted, this is all ultimately inconsequential to my daily life and we'll all be burned up by an expanding star in a few billion years so it's whatever.

yeah tough games for sure. Someone needs to step up and start hitting shots. McAndrew definitely needs to start. He is going to have some mistakes and needs to drive to the hoop some, but he had a good game with 12pts and 14rebs. Kalk really needs to start moving around a lot more, the guards can't get him the ball. There were several times they threw it low, and that should almost never happen with a 7'1" guy.

Neal needs to stop shooting 3's. The Jays took a chance on him and hoped his 3pt % would improve with CU's offense but it has not (now I will say at least 2-3 of his looks today were right there and just didn't fall) Isaacs is a streaky shooter so maybe he can get hot sometime but not hitting at a great clip now.

As mentioned before, Traudt, Green and Miller are bringing nothing. The last two games they are a combined 0-9 with 10 rebs.

On a side note, it was good to see Ashworth shooting around before the game and even jumping some. I expect him to miss this tournament, but hopefully be back for Kansas next wednesday.

Yeah crazy basketball season already, the big East is definitely down this year.

But the Jays have plenty of opportunities to win some non-conference games.

Yeah pretty much led the whole game and couldn’t get it done. Nice to see Ashworth back and the team made 35% from 3. Sucks to lose 3 in a row but San Diego and a&m are good teams and Nebraska is ok. Still plenty of season left.

These were the two tweets I saw:
Turnovers and second chance points are starting to pile up in the wrong direction for the #Jays. Can't lose the possession battle on top of the shooting struggles and still expect to be successful.
In the last 30 seconds, Creighton has given up another offensive rebound that led a go-ahead 3-point play, an uncontested dunk on the back end of a press, and a got a 5-second violation trying to inbound the ball to tie the game.

Wow, UConn lost again as well, this time to Dayton. Somehow both UConn and the Jays are 4-3. I’m trying to remain calm. Like the season-ticket holder next to me said, “we don’t really know how good or bad teams are until January “

Jays squeak out a win 80-76 over Notre Dame.

Played without Kalk who has a lower leg injury. And pop missed most of the second half sick. But Jamiya Neal stepped up and hit 4 3’s and tied his career high with 21.

Next up is Kansas at CHI on Wednesday

Big game tonight. I have wanted Kansas to come to Omaha for a matchup with Creighton for a long time. Hopefully Kalk is back, but I do think Fred King plays a good style as well, and although he isn't anywhere near as good of a defender that Kalk is in some ways he is a better offensive player with a little more movement.

I heard the team was also battling sickness while in Vegas last week, so hopefully that is out of their system as well.

Kalk is playing so that is good to see. Hopefully it’s a close game but I think Kansas wins by 10
