Wow, just listened to the post game and even Coach Mac called out players and specifically Kalk saying that he played soft. I don't think I have heard that come from him often, you could tell that he was really disappointed.

Assuming that means Kalk is healthy? Can't imagine Mac would call him out if dealing with an injury.

Yeah, to be honest, I have never heard Mac call players out before, maybe he is just trying to push different buttons to see what works.

Fedor Zugic is immediately eligible. Huge boost for a depleted Creighton back court.

Good bounceback win for the Jays. Didn't expect much from Zugic right away, but nice to see him getting some first hand gameday time.

Good article from Steven Ashworth about the charity work that he is doing in the Omaha community.

More Than a Game
One initiative I’m particularly passionate about is the Giving Machines for the Light the World campaign. The Light the World initiative started in 2017 through a partnership between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and local and global charities.

Its goal is simple yet profound: to provide relief and aid to those in need during the holiday season.

What makes this initiative unique are the Giving Machines—vending machines where people can purchase items like school shoes, meals for homeless shelters, eye exams for children, and even livestock for communities in need. Originally launched in Salt Lake City, these machines have since expanded to cities across the country.

This year, the Giving Machines will be in Omaha from December 21 to 31 at the Westroads Mall.

On December 28, my teammates and I will visit the machines to help promote donations, take photos, and connect with the community.

Nice home win for the jays vs a good St Johns team at CHI..

Almost blew it at the end. Great job defending home court..Kalk was a beast and Ashworth gutted out another gritty, injury prone game…

This was a game the jays needed to defend home court and got it. I think St. John’s is a very good team, they are long and athletic like always but way better this year. This game was so similar to last years game that went down to the wire as well.

Gunna be tough to win at their place, but very happy the Jays ended 2024 with a win.

Also, Kalkbrenner became the first player to accumulate 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 blocks in league play.

Pretty impressive when you think of all the guys that have played in the Big East.

Nice, last year after the Creighton game, he said that he wanted to go out into the cold and jump in a snow pile.

I can't remember seeing him play this poorly ever. This team clearly has potential, but is a long way from putting it all together. Coach Mac has his work cut out for him.

They really hung in there better than I expected. Quite honestly it was theirs to lose (and they did) with the opportunities they gave themselves on defense later in the game.

Yes after giving up the 23-3 run they answered with their own 12-0 run and pulled within 4 late in the game but couldn’t take advantage of some easy close shots.

Either way, close loss on the road to a top 10 team, not the worst and certainly not as bad as Iowa’s blowout 30 pt loss at the Wisconsin tonight

Jays picked up the win today at Hinkle over Butler (their 3rd straight win @hinkle which is tough to do)

As usual it was Kalk and Ashworth dominating. Ashworth nearly had a triple double in the first half alone.

He finished with 22pts, 12 rebs and 9 assts. Kalk also had a huge game with 26pts, 9 Rebs and 6 blocks. Butler has now lost 9 in a row, their longest losing streak in 35 years.

Nice road win to keep pace, and in a tough place to play and get a win..

The Jays simply need to defend home turf and snatch a couple more road wins..and I like their chances of getting an NCAA Tournament bid..

But, it’s early January and still much to build…

Exactly what they need to do, need to win all or almost at home and maybe grab a couple more road wins to have a chance

Good win last night. The Ashworth-Kalk pipeline was in full effect. Traudt had some seriously clutch 3pt action.

Yes, Ashworth really did a nice job finding Kalk, and the last 2 games Kalk has been on a tear: 26pt 9rebs, 6 blocks and 20pts, 10 rebs, 6 blocks and 3 assts. It was also really nice to see Mason Miller get the wide-open dunk and make 2 3's. That was a great win to get them into the 4th spot in the conference. Probably not going to catch Marquette for the lead, but its not out of the question.

Wow, just looked at the remaining upcoming home games and already the Pink Out game on Sat Jan 25th, Marquette and Uconn games are sold out. The other 4 remaining games are pretty close and have a good chance to sell out as well. That is awesome to see, especially since this team doesn't quite have the hype that the past 3-4 years have had.

What a win. 28 game home win streak snapped. Jays are 8-2 against UConn all-time.

Ashworth did get lucky on that call on the floor but up until the end of the game the refs hardly called any of the body contact on UConn.

Huge for the Jays..

Like we stated last week, defend home court and steal one more on the road, this team could land a 5-7 seed regardless what happens in the Big East Tournament…

Trey Alexander is tearing up the G league right now, he has scored 30+ in 3 straight games including 38,36, and 36. Wonder if he will get a spot in the NBA.

The DePaul game was a really nice win for the Jays..

DePaul is an improved team, but the Jays defense made them look like the same old DePaul..

There seems to be a really nice chemistry brewing with this team and it’s rotation, Just keep on defending home court and steal away another couple of road wins. If this happens, regardless of the Big East tournament result, the Jays could lock up a 5-7 seed.. after a 7-5 start, being 13-6 now is pretty darn impressive…

Although the NBA is his goal, he is getting a lot more playing time to improve his skills. Looks like he is average about 27 ppg in 9 games and 0.9 in 12 NBA Games.

Yes, they do seem to be starting to gel. Neal has really stepped up as the 3rd scorer and even the bench has been more consistent lately.

According to the OWH the women's CU game vs Uconn @ CHI has sold out all lower bowl seats and they have opened up the upper bowl now as well. They are expecting over 10,000 fans which would shatter the previous women's record of 4,400 at the Civic
