Colorado and Wyoming

Finally getting round to a photo trip I did back in the fall of 2023 with fellow forum member the1wags.

Day 1 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The first day of my 2023 Fall Photography Tip. I spent Day 0 driving all the way across Nebraska, in to Wyoming, and then down in to Colorado. My rental car had a little trouble in Wyoming, but I was able to quickly resolve the issue, but was nervous the rest of the trip. We camped on Buffalo Pass, outside Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Or original target in the area was closed to the public to we scrambled to find a new location. We ended up with decent photos that morning before heading down to Steamboat Springs. We made a quick stop at Fish Creek Falls, before heading back to Steamboat Springs for lunch. After lunch we headed north to our evening target of California Park. I start out photographing what I believe is Diamond Peak, before chasing mammatus clouds. That night we camped in California Park.

Day 2 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The second day of my 2023 Fall Photography Tip. We camped in California Park, outside Steamboat Springs, Colorado where we photographed sunrise. We ended up with decent photos that morning before heading to Western Wyoming. We spent most of the day driving to Pinedale, WY. For sunset we went to Green River Lakes in the Wind River Range. Due to the weather forecast, we went back to Pinedale after sunset.

Day 3 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The third day of my 2023 Fall Photography Tip. We decided to sleep in on day 3 due to the heavy rains that morning. Once we got up, we had breakfast and headed to Jackson Wyoming. We experienced lots of weather on day 3 and saw 3 bull moose.

Day 4 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The 4th day of my 2023 Fall Photography Trip. On day 4 we saw a large Grizzley Bear, snow and more clouds.

Day 5 I photographed Grizzley 793 aka "Blondie" and her two cubs of the year.

Day 6 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The 6th day of my 2023 Fall Photography Trip. On day 6 we start the morning at Schwabacher's Landing, photograph clouds forming on the top of the Tetons, look for wildlife and hang out and watch sunset.

Day 7 and 8 - 2023 Fall Photography Trip

The 7th and 8th days of my 2023 Fall Photography Trip. On day 7 we start the morning at Mormon Row and John Moulton barn. Then we try our luck one last time at Oxbow Bend before starting to head south towards Honeycomb Buttes where we camp on the evening of Day 7. After photographing sunrise on Day 8, I head back to Omaha.
