I wonder if Jordan Larsen knew this was coming. Obviously she is playing too, which would make it hard, but weird that she stepped down right before Cook retiring.

Not quite the same, IMO. He followed Terry Pettit, who took it from nothing to something, and then Cook took it from there. Devaney started with nothing.

To me, Pettit was the Devaney, and Cook was the Osborne.

Fair enough. Pettit was before my time in terms of when I started paying attention to volleyball.

According to the article in the OWH, they are separate. Sounds like Larson was headed out in December, and not wanting to juggle playing and coaching simultaneously.

I will be honest, I didn't think Larson looked comfortable coaching. Seems like she wants to stay in the sport long term but hasn't found the right path yet.

The BOR passed this today so it is now John Cook Arena

There will also be a statue outside.
