Wow! Does this stretch all the way to 48th Street in the rendering? Is that where those rowhouses(?) appear to be?

I noticed the streetcar is no longer part of the rendering.

Is that Tall-ish building with the sloped roof by Leavenworth something yet to be announced?

Most of the buildings shown west of Saddle Creek are unannounced beyond the admin building, garage, and existing steel castingsNosebot wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 9:49 pm Is that Tall-ish building with the sloped roof by Leavenworth something yet to be announced?

Yes, but at least it'll be a similar height with the apartments that'll wrap around them! (Hopefully)

Noticed on Google Maps, interior pictures were added for the Catalyst. The inside is really impressive!

That's good. Russel Speeders fit in there just fine for years, but as the hospital has grown, that lot just looked really out of place.

Re: EDGE District (Omaha Steel Castings Redevelopment)
Is that still open for business? I thought that was one of the original businesses that was out of place on that road. Back when Target was around along with the other businesses, I felt like Saddle Creek between Leavenworth and California was a nice area... rent to own = pay day advance (which I believe those all basically were shuttered due to their ridiculous fee structure). I'm surprised rent to own was never subjected to similar rules. Instead, they're allowed to charge you 4x the regular retail price of a washing machine or PlayStation.

Unfortunately the rental place is still open. It would be wonderful if they could demolish it because the EDGE district is looking so good.

Re: EDGE District (Omaha Steel Castings Redevelopment)
I live a block away from this and snapped a few cell phone pictures this evening. This looks to be about done and ready to move into in parts. There are areas like this with workstations that look like shared use areas.

There are other areas that look like they are ready to be built to spec.

This is the main entrance and you can see the Big Grove Coffee area.

I think that this is the actual Big Grove Brewery under construction. All of those red bits appear to be a very old wooden facade. They stretch about 30 feet to the left as well. They are all arranged in rows and it seems like there will be a lot of columns perhaps. It looks to be pretty massive.

There is also metered parking in that stretches up to 48th st. by the cemetery. I was hoping for a pedestrian access off of Howard and 48th, but there is currently only one further south.

Does anyone know how leasing on the catalyst building is going? Will they be able to proceed with the next planned medical office building?

Re: EDGE District (Omaha Steel Castings Redevelopment)
New $65 million Catalyst transformed from Omaha steel plant into 'coolest office building'

Two years after breaking ground, the $65 million Catalyst — situated on the 30-acre triangular parcel west of Saddle Creek Road that the University of Nebraska Medical Center has dubbed the EDGE District — is nearly complete. A public grand opening is slated for May 28.
The 170,000-square-foot complex began hosting events in November and welcomed its first tenants — it's now up to 15 — in March. The Big Grove Coffee Co. has begun brewing, and the Big Grove Brewery's taproom is expected to follow sometime in June.

If you wanted a closer look at the Catalyst Omaha, check out my last Grow Omaha Construction Update. In the middle of the video, I spend about 3.5 min looking at the Catalyst building. Its a great building!
