Western Nebraska Photography Trip 2024

Videos from my Fall 2024 Photography Trip to Western Nebraska.

Western Nebraska Day 1 2024

The first day of my 2024 Fall Photography Tip to Western Nebraska. I spent Day 0 driving all the way across Nebraska and had just enough light to capture a couple photos near Chimney Rock. Day 1 started at Scotts Bluff National Monument before I headed north towards Crawford Nebraska. The afternoon was a whirl wind of checking out possible photo locations.

Thanks. I'm sure you can tell by the dates I have been sitting on a pile of footage for a few years now...

Western Nebraska Day 2 2024

The second day of my 2024 Fall Photography Tip to Western Nebraska. Day 2 started at Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford, Nebraska. I spent the middle part of the day photographing projects for work before spending the afternoon and evening in the hills east of Chadron, NE.

I hadn't been to Scottsbluff or Chimney Rock until about 2-3 years ago and they both have this serenity about them. Would love to go back. Coming back to Omaha we drove on Hwy 26, and although we didn't have time, I would like to visit Ash Hollow State Historical Park. It was almost an oasis of green after looking at all the brown for miles.

There's so much good stuff out there. I drove by Ash Hollow, but didn't stop. I was trying to make it to Chimney Rock by Sunset and just barely got there.

Didn't you call ahead and have them hold off on the sunset for a while for you?

Better late than never... LOL

Western Nebraska Day 3 and 4, 2024

The final two days of my 2024 Fall Photography Tip to Western Nebraska. Day 3 started at Toadstool Geologic Park near Crawford, Nebraska. Day 4 started in the sandhills near Lakeside, NE. Both days the haze and smoke moved in and I didn't get anything at sunset.

Good to see Toadstool again. On your Day 4, there's something about the windmills surrounded by dry prairie and the rolling sandhills despite the less-than-ideal photo conditions.
