I can't remember who it was, or what the software was, but was hoping it sparked a memory with someone. It'd be cool to use that to day dream and come up with some ideas for some new towers
I did a couple back in the day with Sketchup and Google Earth. But Sketchup pushes the pro-license pretty hard now so trying to do it now is pretty big pain.

I know others did some as well, not sure the 3D software they used or the maps data.
Give me some lots and uses and I could whip something up.
well, mainly UP and civic, but i was also wanting to play with the 11th & Harney one too

See, the reason why people are upset; is because you offered very detailed plans of similar projects twice in April fools, how are people supposed to take your word if you were not serious?

Unless you can back up your claims and be as honest and transparent as you can on this latest claim by you, maybe people will be more open to hear what you say. Regarding this "Company", which sounds good.

Is it just me, but I think the "Tower District" is simply the two central towers, currently being converted into residential? They are centrally located in "Central Downtown" as the city suggested.

I hope I am wrong and hope that the tower district is a more serious project, than just the 2 central towers to be converted.

It’s more than just The Duo. The mayor said they had begun planning the Tower District and The Duo had already been announced. But I would imagine The Duo is part of this district. I’m thinking the Tower District is just an area that will include many of the tallest buildings in the CBD and many lots where high rises could end up.

It also could be the Turner park east area and mutuals former campus. A lot of cleared lots and plenty more with the eventual momentum to reconfiguring Park Ave/30th, etc.

This. It’s a geographical designation, not like a project or anything.

Good points and good detail observations; raising the question sure helps bring those with more juicy preliminary details to share. I'm excited for what's to come for the Tower District. :banger:

The area between Turner Park on both the west side of i480 and the east side of i480, sure looks like a perfect raw template for a large district like the Tower District, very sus.

It seams that the MoO campus would be an extension of MCX, as the project is on the far west.

I’ve stated before in this thread what the boundaries of the Tower District are. I’m not sure why everyone is so confused about it.

Because if it’s the boundaries you stated then it would exclude the Woodman, the State Building, and the other Mutual block. Who told you those were the boundaries?

I know google earth is pretty up to date on building stock, but that person used the geographic locations to place a sort of model and showed what it would look like from different angles (e.g. something built on civic square/UP, etc, but viewed from the perspective above, from abbot drive, etc). I remember it, but may have to abandon my crusade so i don't muddy the waters :)
Google Earth Pro for Windows or OS X. You can upload KMZ models to Earth Pro and then place them anywhere in the world.

Now that it’s been a year and we’re changing to a new administration, I’m still wondering what the Tower District is supposed to be

Hopefully it’s the taller the building constructed in the CBD the better the incentives.

Seems like this time a year ago things were building to a fever pitch.

It’s honestly felt so much longer to me, I was surprised to see the thread was only a year old. So much has been announced.
