I notice there's glass going up on the office tower portion of the building, on the north side.

From a distance it’s been noticeably taller since the last time it was raised.

It looks taller than Woodmen from all over the city now, finally. The Woodmen sits on a bluff similar to how the Masonic Manor (Elmwood)does. Really helps those two look taller than they are.

Was in Des Moines today so thought I’d snap a photo of downtown to compare to Omaha. While Omaha’s tallest are taller Des Moines still looks better overall imho. Omaha really needs a few more buildings in the 325-375 range to even out the skyline.

Thanks! I noticed last night after I posted these, you can actually see steel on the left side just above the trees. I believe that would be the top of the 26th floor, so you should be able to see all of 27 when they start working on the next sections of floors (27 & 28).

Core pour today. Once the slip-form goes up tomorrow I'd expect the steel to go up on next two floors of the elevator core, followed by a tie-off to the crane.

Do you mean crane extension or just a tie-off to the crane?

Usually they have installed new tire-offs right before they raise the crane, sometimes the same day.

So, the tower crane has been raised. As I was walking into work just after 11pm I noticed at least four helmet lights up in the tower just below the cab. They were in the lifter cage with the new extension piece. I heard a lot of pounding. It was an interesting sight.

They must have done that all overnight. When we were downtown on the way to the 311 concert the extensions were still staged on the ground.
