Interesting. I didn't even know they had a deal previously, nor am I familiar with FloSports at all.WorldStreet wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 12:40 amThis is fairly significant in the volleyball world and many more college volleyball fans will be able to watch Creighton as they often already subscribe to ESPN+. Very few were willing to subscribe to FloSports just for the purpose of watching Big East volleyball.

Re: Big East Conference
Its popular with people that want to watch minor league Hockey and smaller auto racing events.
They were talking about it on 1620 yesterday and they basically said they would be taking the feed from Creighton or wherever the game is being played and re-broadcast it on the espn+ platform. So games at Creighton would be produced by CU and the broadcasters would be from CU.almighty_tuna wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 1:22 pm lol, nobody is; terrible platform. glad the big east made this move to espn+, way better access and visibility.

That's how ESPN+ is done with a lot of the Big 12 sports. I watch it all the time. It works well. The Big 10 networks subscription service does this as well.Brad wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 1:33 pmIts popular with people that want to watch minor league Hockey and smaller auto racing events.

During the past several years on FloSports, Creighton's broadcast production was also pretty impressive and professional, including the broadcast team.

Re: Big East Conference
This is awesome news. Moving to FloSports six years ago was a huge mistake; for the first six years of the rebuilt Big East, that content had been free on a dedicated Big East Digital Network section of the Fox Sports app. They took the money from FloSports and the checks cashed, but at the expense of a way smaller potential audience and a buggy, constantly-buffering experience for the people who did subscribe. Just a mess all the way around.
I talked to a couple of former CU athletic department people this week who said when the league was debating the FloSports deal six years ago, they tried to convince the rest of the league it would be a mistake. Coming from the Valley, Creighton was much more familiar with the perils of poor-quality webcast providers and lack of access than the original Big East schools were -- but they lost the vote. Folks at Creighton had to toe the party line with regards to FloSports publicly, but privately I know they were extremely frustrated with how bad it was.
