You on the Roof of the Hyatt building? Interesting to see of those 3 red Morton buildings in there off 72 and I 80.

Too bad the ugly VA building is in there...
That’s a cool picture!

They have the flag up again for Labor Day, this time obviously much higher on the skyline.

The flag was easily seen from West Omaha. Need to get a photo sometime this weekend. Hopefully the rain cooperates.

You can see it from lot A of the CHI Center, right up by the building. Really cool perspective, wish I had grabbed a pic.

Nope. The weather never worked with my schedule. Last night would have been the best shot weather wise, but we had plans...

Not sure we even had a sunny morning when it was up this time. Hoping the Tower Crane is still up at Memorial Day.

Saw this picture from May 2024 online and thought this would be a good view/angle to see now since Mutual is much taller. From this viewpoint the towers prob wouldn’t look so spread out:

Trying to learn here what a half floor is. When you say that the 44th floor has been poured we're talking just the floor or has the roof been poured to enclose the floor at this point. That would leave only 12 more feet of parapet to hide the mechanical equipment on the roof. If so then we are nearly topped out at this point from looking at things way out here in the Papillion area.

When Jason Lanoha was on Grow Omaha a few weeks back, he said the 44th Floor is a double floor. Most floors are 15' tall and 44 is 30' tall.

I know all of that. But is the roof of the 44th on it or not to make it 15' high at this point in time? Is this where the 665' is coming from? If it is then 12' is all that is left to hide mechanical stuff with the exterior panels at 677'.

Yes, the 44th floor is a double floor. The 665 is just an estimate based on what Lanoha mentioned the height was on the show. Not quite sure how tall the mechanical floor is going to be but we have to be within 20-25 ft at most, but prob closer to 10-20’ from the 677’ peak.

For some reason I can see the free ride aspect of the street car system could be a bite in the rear end. Free attracts groups of teens horsing around making some feel uncomfortable. Maybe not but what do I know. Does it happen in other cities? If not then I'll just crawl back in under my rock.

I think the same things were said about the Riverfront parks. Are there teens horsing around in the park? Yes, on occasion. But the park is so much used by the general public at large and park authorities run it very professionally, that the public is not afraid to use it. It will be the same with the streetcar.

We're all from somewhere. Me, I'm from here. I'm prouder every day that this is the city where I was born. Omaha is becoming so photogenic these days. I bet our cityscape is on more cellphone albums than any other city in our region outside of Chicago.

where's all the long shots of this thing? When it was being built we couldn't post enough. Now that it's nearly topped out it's been weeks. Just a bunch of closeups in the mall! Has it finally moved above the FNB tower...I wouldn't have ever known it that's for sure. Now lets get clickin'!
