On my to do list, but when I have time it’s been too Smokey or raining.
Here are a couple long shots from this morning. The first one is ok, but even though the second one is only 15 min later, the heat waves are quite intense. If its not crystal clear on my 27" monitor, I don't like them.

Going north on 16th from down in the Deer Park gully will always be one of my favorite presentations of Downtown, and I thought this new tower would be a great addition from that perspective.

You start down low, and you have such a steep hill to climb that you can't see any of Downtown, it's almost like a wall. Gradually you start to see the top of FNBO, and once you get up to Vinton, you're on even ground and can see much of Downtown all the sudden. Its a nice presentation.

Nice photos. I love #1. Power lines and poles add virtually nothing to a pic and totally ruin a great photo!

:thumb: Brad your first pic in this last group is really good. Unless for a specific effect the Woodmen Tower should never be hidden. The more blue sky between the "3 Amigos" the better! :thumb:

Here is one more from Saturday. I wasn't going to post it because the quality is too low, but it is a good view of the height. I'll get a better version one of these days when the weather is better for telephoto lenses.

For real.

I see on Wikipedia, there's a timeline that shows the building growing month by month. That's something that most skyscrapers in New York don't have!

When this project was first announced, I wondered if Woodman would kind of disappear a bit from the skyline. As MoO Tower is nearing completion, I'm happy to see that Woodman still stands out from many angles. There are obviously vantages from which MoO completely hides Woodman but, by and large, the old tower still contributes nicely to a three-peak skyline.

Great photos, everybody!

The Woodmen is still pretty dominant in the skyline, it’s the third tallest building by quite a wide margin, the 4th tallest is over 100 feet shorter. We now have 3 big buildings, I think the skyline could use a few more 300 footers, hopefully that will happen in the near future or at least next 10 years. Either way Omaha has an impressive skyline for a metro of its size.

The1wags pointed out this morning that they are pouring concrete on the top of the tower today. Wonder if its some sort of roof for the core?

:hi:

You can get a good jump on checking the webcams being in Italy. 😁 Yes, I would assume this is the last core pour, would think the forms come down pretty soon. It's looking great, Omaha! 😎

I believe that camera is on the top of the glass section, not the very top.

Also, Rusty Lord had a nice sunrise photo from that same camera earlier today.

Yes, the camera is on the section below the top, but you still get a feel for the angle its "looking up" quite a ways to the Mutual tower.

I saw these on twitter this morning, courtesy of Roy Peck, or at least an account with that name. Views from the top.

Not too often we get these angles, so I wanted to further share these along.
