After I learned that the southeastern Nebraska town of Beatrice use to have ten miles of streetcar lines, I discovered that the atmosphere also included many beautiful grand buildings from the 1880's - 1910. The following video shows some of the former glory, some of which is still around today.

If Beatrice could support a streetcar from 1886-1902, surely Omaha can now. Truly wild that a city of that size once had one.

"Truly wild" was probably my first thought too. However, to be fair those early streetcars didn't have those pesky cars to compete with.

It might be worth checking out Stone Hollow Brewery after a visit to Homestead National Monument.
