Don't know how accurate this is but this is the AI response I got when I asked about the scoreboard size for CHI: (if true, that would put it around the same size as PBA, but just slightly smaller.

The new 2025 scoreboard

As part of a $200 million renovation, a new center-hung video board was installed in 2025.
It features four 4mm LED screens, each measuring 31 feet high by 38 feet wide.

The former 2013 scoreboard

This system was the second in the arena's history and was installed by Daktronics in 2013.
The overall console was more than 26 feet high and 32 feet in diameter.
It featured four main video displays, each approximately 11.5 feet high by 20 feet wide.
Above the main displays were eight outward-facing, octagon-shaped displays, each measuring approximately 6 feet high by 11.5 feet wide.

IMO it would be a little disappointing to see Pinnacle get a nicer (larger) scoreboard than CHI. Given the magnitude of the events we often get in Omaha (NCAA tournament, Creighton, etc). Really, they should be able to eclipse the Lincoln venue's improvements.

The limiting factor on Omaha's size is that it would still need to fit up in the ceiling between the rafters.

Thats what I was thinking. I thought they might have a newly designed board, but a few months ago I was under the assumption that it might just be a replacement of existing panels. Either way, pretty sure its a sure thing that it is the same design as PBA and Baxter, but I do agree it is a little disappointing that PBA's might be slightly larger (although, prob only 3% larger, which wouldn't be that noticeable) CHI's will be about 6.5 ft shorter but 5.5 ft wider.

Perhaps, but when Memorial Stadium got their first big screens in the corners of the end zones, it was ALL the rage! Biggest around, no one else had them, etc. And that was when Nebraska was consistently winning games.

As far as having a better team - I agree... Although the Cowboys always suck, yet everyone talks about their giant scoreboard/video setup.

Needless to say, as previously pointed out, maybe the "slightly smaller" difference won't be too noticeable. Particularly when you're at an event, you may not notice it at all. It's simply surprising to me with a larger venue than PBA, they were unable to accommodate a larger board (if that's the reason).

I was at PBA last Saturday for Creighton volleyball. The screen looked as big as the court and actually was distracting. I’d catch myself watching the screen instead of the court. It probably looked larger because PBA seating is so much more vertical than CHI. That large of screen isn’t needed

Haha, I find myself doing that sometimes even with CHI's current screen. I wonder if they are still keeping the video board on the south end of the arena as well.

I really don't care. Each venue should have the best available to them. I find it funny that people get uptight over one venue being "better" than the other. Come on, we should want what is best for anything in the state.

CHI Health Center Omaha Refreshes Digital Video Experience with Daktronics Displays

CHI Health Center Omaha,part of the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA) of Omaha, Nebraska, has selected Daktronics, to design, manufacture and install 37 LED displays throughout the venue ahead of the 2025 fall sports seasons. The project includes a five-display centerhung configuration, the first to feature 2.5-millimeter pixel spacing on every display in the centerhung. The displays are operated by Show Control with Camino to deliver a memorable game-day experience.

“We are excited to once again partner with CHI Health Center Omaha on this exciting technology refresh,” says Matt Warke, Daktronics sales representative. “They continue to push the technology envelope with the installation of the first continuous 2.5-millimeter centerhung. From the moment you park your car until you’re sitting in your seat, you will be immersed in an improved digital experience. We look forward to seeing this new installation at upcoming events.”

At the south end of the arena, an end wall video display measures 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing and measures 14 feet high by 36 feet wide. This display can show supplemental video and graphics information to the main displays for another view of all the important game-day information.

Each side of the arena features its own ribbon display, a long and narrow display mounted to the seating fascia. The north ribbon measures 2.5 feet high by 180 feet wide. The south ribbon measures 2.5 feet high by 164 feet wide. The east and west ribbons each measure 2.5 feet high by 262.5 feet wide.

Four vomitory displays are mounted about entrances and exits of the seating bowl. Each measures 2.5 feet high by 20 feet wide.

They said this is the only scoreboard in the United States, that’s a full wraparound scoreboard with a 2.5 mm pixel…. The Boston Celtics have something with the 2.5 mm pixel not a wrap around.

Wow, that is amazing how far it's come over the years. It's hard to believe the one from 2003 was so small in comparison. And the pixel depth is incredible. That will allow for a much clearer picture.

At some point you max out on viable size, but things like the pixel size and the wraparound make a huge difference. It's great seeing us have a one-in-a-kind scoreboard (for now...until others start catching up ).

With how the expansion abuts against the railroad line it's even more frustrating that a way to cap them and create a promenade to the riverfront from the convention center did not come to fruition.

Good point, that would have been nice. Granted, the railroad was the start of Omaha's boom so its fitting, but park space would be much nicer to look at.

Anyone know if they are working on the WiFi at CHI? Yesterday was the 2nd or 3rd consecutive game where it has been terrible. CHI has always had the best WiFi of any arena I’ve been to but don’t know what’s going on.

I’ve heard several other people at the Creighton games have the same issue. Granted there are 16-18,000 there and people were prob streaming nfl games yesterday but we see how it is tomorrow night for the game.
